Re: Mugen Power Batteries

If they design a new battery cover, I sure hope they include a well sealed lens cover. That is a feature I wouldn't want to give up!

Does anyone know if any other model they support has a lens cover as a part of battery cover?

I to received the email, I would be happy with an 1800 mah battery like the one they have for the n95. I would buy one in a heartbeat.

They are a reputable maker of bigger batteries.

Re: Mugen Power Batteries

I emailed them few weeks ago and ask if there gonna be a 1800mah or a 3600mah battery but one of the representative told me that they are making a battery for the n900.

only bad part is it's only a 1320mah battery which is the same as the original battery on the n900.

how much improvement could we expect?

same mah as the original n900? wth what would be the point.

Re: Mugen Power Batteries

^ exactly, i ask them if they know if they will be coming out with something more powerful then the original and they said they don't know as of yet.

Re: Mugen Power Batteries

is this company known for making extra-strong batteries for devices?

thinh 2009-12-23 03:23

Re: Mugen Power Batteries

yes they are, they make higher cap battery on original sized battery and also make mega size cap battery but with a modified back cover of course.

i think if we all email requesting bigger sizes battery and they know it's in demand then it'll push them into making one...

Re: Mugen Power Batteries

i was just having a quick browse on their site and saw a standard sized 3200mah battery for htc hero. replacing the original 1350mah battery.

thats crazy. it should be very possible with the n900 right

I just sent them an email. I already bought a battery from them for my N810, which I pointed out. They owe me!

Wouldn't be so bad if they extended the thickness of the whole back to fit the current camera protrusion IMO.

Re: Mugen Power Batteries

Agreed. All that camera bulge does is make the device unstable to click and type on a hard surface.

If it's flush with the battery and camera, I'm buying. Oh, and would that also fix the chrome self-flashing bug? Dude. I'd like 2, please.

IMO it would be nice if the battery would be kept at same size ... if MP battery release an oversize battery i'd rather have two OEM w/ me than just a big brick with me all the time... idk i guess i'll wait n see :D

Has any "OEM sized" mugen battery proven to provide better results? I doubt it.

There is a french constructor who sell a 3000mah battery for N900 for 34,90 euros but they extended the thicknesss of the whole back :

huh? ... what i meant was that i'd rather have two n900 oem battery than an oversize Mugen battery that would make the n900 look bigger than it already is ... unless they have an oem size batter that work

Re: Mugen Power Batteries

I've purchased several Mugen batteries in the past. I purchase one for my N95-1 and another for my N810. Both were the double-wides requiring replacement backs. Both batteries definitely provided MUCH more battery life, but I wasn't pleased with the quality of the backs. In particular, the plastic retention clips seem of poor manufacture and have broken on each. I've had to resort to painter's tape on the N95 back to hold it on and actually epoxied the N810's in place.

I would really like to get an extra big battery for my N900, as the battery life leaves much to be desired. I hope someone comes with a replacement back with charging contacts and an accompanying cradle, as I am very wary of the poor mechanical design of the micro-usb port. Maybe they could fix some of the camera issues while they are at it? Someone could make a lot of money selling replacement backs to fix Nokia's design faults.

has anyone tried the batteries of that french site? does it come with a replacement back or what? There is no screenshot?

Re: Mugen Power Batteries

I just received an email from Mugen Batteries saying that they are going to release shortly an extended battery for the N900 http://www.mugen-power-batteries.com...okia-n900.html

My only worry is that they mention 2300-2400mAh which seems way higher than Nokia's and not credible

fpp 2010-01-11 17:07

Re: Mugen Power Batteries

It may be if you imagine that it will also be WAY bigger :-)

Its only credible if the battery is physical larger. I'm hoping the new backcover will be just flush with the current camera

I probably wouldn't mind if it made the back completely flat but I'd rather have the original cover with a normal size battery even if it's only 1500-1600mAh
