[Announce] N9Tweak v0.2-6.1

I have made a litte user friendly app for some hacks available on N9. Firstly cause i am lazy and reflash the device pretty frequently but also to make it safer enabling the hacks. Currently the latest version is v0.2-5. Look in the first picture for examples what hack it does. The pics are little bit old.. n9tweak are a bit more competent now. ;)

Still beta quality.. so it might have some bugs. Be careful when you use it.

Install it through the browser and make sure you have "allow other sources" set in settings and developer-mode activated.

I hope you don't swith to much between 12h/24h directly cause i found a "bug" that don't allow that. Easy fixed by "reset to default" first and then change to 12h or 24h.

had to reboot to see icon but it works.. also it seems the text wraps sooner than first version, if you get what I mean

No, sorry.. don't follow exactly what you mean. What text is wraping sooner?

Hmm.. that did not look good. It doesn't look that bad for me if i use the virtual keyboard. Are you on PR1.0 or PR1.1? Maybe i could shrink it little more but else i don't know if anything could be done. Is it readable?

There is some cool stuff in here AlMehdi. Great work! I didn't install it because as it turns out I had most of it already tweaked on my device. :-). But I owe you big thanks for showing me how to restart home/lock screens etc via initctl.

Nice to be at service Steve ;)

Have new hack for next version.. it is called bounce. It could be particulary good for the screen lock clock. When on screen lock screen you tap once and it will jump right and show more of the text. So you could fit more than just the time.

Looks interesting - will give it a try. There is a thread somewhere about increasing the volume using alsamixer... here. This works but there was a suggestion it reverts after a reset and maybe your wicked tool could be employed to help that...

look at everythingn9.com for all the mods already made for n9? and compile them in your n9tweak:)

hope there is a mod to add more smiley to the default one

Hi! I have installed the app but even after reboot I cannot find the icon in the menu. Any ideas?

It must have failed to install.. do you see anything if you write "ls /opt/n9tweak" in terminal?

you are a valuable piece of this community and i, amongst others, appreciate your time and expertise put into each and every offering.

i was curious if there was anyway to get all of the apps to recognize landscape mode. it does not make much sense for landscape mode to work and then having to hold it portrait in apps like calc, phone, and others. thank you in advance

I will not publish to Ovi Store as it is hacks.. i do not think it will pass QA. I might put it in the Community "store" over at http://apps.formeego.com though.

Opss... sorry.. accidentally removed it. I have a new build ready soon. Just need to bug test little more. I noticed that setting auto-als to manual make it impossible to come out of lock-screen. So i need to solve it or it will be removed. After that i think i have tested it enough for release.

My plan is to get it to community repo eventually.. just want it to get more stable first.

Yeah, bounce would need a video but i don't have the hardware for it i am afraid. But when on lock-screen and you tap.. you wil see it go right little. I have tweaked this to go a whole screen which make it possible to add a lot more text to lock-screen clock. When doing this i also aligned the date lable to left instead of right.

All hacks are in /opt/n9tweak/n9tweak.. in text form.. am not using any binary.

It changes the values of /usr/share/themes/base/meegotouch/libsysuid-screenlock-nokia/style/libsysuid-screenlock-nokia.css:

Found a way to make a timelapse of bounce.. not very good but it show what it does. It is much smother on device (little as a swipe). As done here http://forum.meego.com/showthread.php?t=4833

Hmm.. then it is installed. You should be able to start it with just writing "n9tweak" too.. I am using a terminal logo. So you might have confused that?

If you write "ls /usr/share/application/n9" what do you get?
