Heck no!! 200Pounds for that?? fuk that shiit.. It is too expensive to afford. I'll rather wait for another 6months for it to go half price. Then start thinking about it.

Re: SanDisk now shipping a 32GB microSDHC card

The price is like half of my N900! And way more than a phone lol. I'm not keen to be the first on this. I'm happy with my 8G card at the moment.

Re: SanDisk now shipping a 32GB microSDHC card

I don't even use the MicroSD card slot at all. Since I don't use my phone for music or movies, it's difficult to fill up the 32GB already.

Mobilefun look like they are going to be allegedly selling it for £99 initially available mid-april (source) where the 16GB retails for £45. Not actually a massive difference there if you were going to buy two anyway (because you need that much on-the-go! lol)

you wont see the class 8 in the market either. makes no difference while in the phone as for the speed. but the firmware takes less memory and is more secure then my 16class2 card. but much faster if you connect it directly to the pc with an adapter to transfer files.

a 16gb is at 50 usd. men that is way up. well, technology evolves fast. after a month or two it'll grind down.

This sounds ultra hairy, a pute with 64 GIG onboard storage, what on earth would you need all that onboard storage for, if you could mount a 16 GIG pendrive on your pute and dump the contents of your 16 GIG SD onto it, we are in the middle of a digital revolution people, and it to me seems to mean something I would guess we are somewhat a global community ~

Re: SanDisk now shipping a 32GB microSDHC card

Man with 32 gigs that small.. they could easily pack like 256gb into a n900 if they just stuck a bunch of the flash modules they use into one drive

Re: SanDisk now shipping a 32GB microSDHC card

I'd love one of these cards as I encoded a ton of my CDs into FLACs and 320kbit MP3s; I'm always tight for space.

But, performance is a big deal as I swap to my microsd; anyone hear any rumors about when a class 6+ 32gb might be available?

Is 32GB memory card make N900 slow????

cpitchford 2010-04-11 10:35

Re: SanDisk now shipping a 32GB microSDHC card

Using dd I found my card would read about 7.7MBytes/s but would write about 3.8 MBytes/s

it doesn't make the phone slow.. but any reading/writing to or from the card is slower than it would be from/to the emmc.. I won't make the browser slow, for example..

http://www.sandisk.co.uk/products/pr...spx?catid=1005

144 pounds from sandisk uk

bloody hell :-)

i think ill make do with my 16gb card and nearly 48gb of total memory :-)

would love the 32gb but for that money i could buy a n86 from ebay or nearly a brand new 5800 or a 5230 with a 16gb card and still have change :-)

Re: SanDisk now shipping a 32GB microSDHC card

I would love a 32GB card just to store all the music, videos and documents that are on the N900 hard drive...and then just use the N900 drive for game roms and the like. But, the price is way too steep right now. I have a 16gb card on the way.....but I know that once I move stuff to that there will still be some of the aformentioned stuff still on the N900.

Re: SanDisk now shipping a 32GB microSDHC card

Well, I love the idea that Sandisk has a 32gb MicroSD card. I've been wanting one for a while, but there comes two problems from this. 1st, the pricetag. It's still way too steep for me. 2nd, it's only Class 2. I won't buy flash cards anymore unless they're at least Class 6, 4 at the absolute minimum. So I'm gonna sit on this about a year and wait for both A) the price to drop significantly, and B) for the class 6 to hit the market and become affordable. But it's still great news.

Re: SanDisk now shipping a 32GB microSDHC card

£144 is rediculous when you can get a class4 8GB card for about £10 (tho just bought 2 used on ebay for under £8 each) and a 16GB for about £20

madness...

Re: SanDisk now shipping a 32GB microSDHC card

Madness!? THIS...IS...oh, wait. lol. Actually, yes, I agree that they are crazy high priced. But that's to be expected of new products. The early adopters typically pay for the R&D, and the people who wait merely pay for the manufacturing, as it takes them a few months to get the bugs out and speed up the process in order to reduce costs. Like I usually say, wait at least a year and get it at a steep discount.

Re: SanDisk now shipping a 32GB microSDHC card

Class 2 is fine for media, files for game emulators and the type of video recording you can do on the N900. The problems would be if you ran apps from the memory, but I do not think that is an issue anyways.

Price still steep, so will wait until late summer when more competition and production drops the price.

Lord Raiden, yes- starting points of cost curves are a beeeuch! ;)

class 4 8 GB on ebay? can you please post the link?

Re: SanDisk now shipping a 32GB microSDHC card

Just stay away from 32gb cards other than Sandisk sellers. A seller was pushing Kingston's on eBay, but they are apparently 4 & 8 gb cards addressed to show 30gb of space, but they show full after MUCH less than that.

Makes sense, since Kingston has not started production yet.

TA-t3 2010-04-18 16:04

Re: SanDisk now shipping a 32GB microSDHC card

Er, Kingston doesn't produce anything themselves. They re-brand cards made by the 3 or 4 real vendors, just like almost every other seller. Sandisk, Toshiba, Panasonic, and, apparently, Micron, make cards. The rest re-brand.

My big issue is VM; I'm swapping exclusively to my class-6 SD, and it's massively fast.
