[Intex][LTE] European LTE bands on Intex

From TJC

I try flash modem EU on Intex. It's not work and try erase modemst1, modemst2 and flash persist.
Try with QTSP and QXDM flash values from Jolla C on Intex (like manual unlock bands on OnePlus One ).
Try custom values. Driver to connect with QTSP/QXDM in Diagnostic mode https://yadi.sk/d/by5jzvtZuVZwH (Lenovo Diagnostic Interface)

It's all not work.

Thanx Coderus and russian community, who trying with me and help.

Have any ideas ?

i am joking, thanks for updates

Re: [Intex][LTE] European LTE bands on Intex

It is quite possible that the radio in the Intex does not have the European LTE bands in it and no software mods will fix this. This would be a hardware issue of the radio not being capable of working on those frequencies.

Re: [Intex][LTE] European LTE bands on Intex

it's the same phone from the same factory with different back cover.

Re: [Intex][LTE] European LTE bands on Intex

Well I think I read somewhere on an official statement, that it's not only the backcover that is different, but also the modem is a different one.

Yeah, itdoesntmatt got that exact reply from jolla zendesk:

i asked to jolla zendesk. actually jollac and intex aquafish have differences in hardware.

I am still puzzled:
  1. The baseband processor should support all LTE bands
  2. The antenna should be no issue, as the frequency range is almost the same (824 -2400 MHz - Aqua fish vs. 791 - 2690 MHz - Jolla C)
Still, with my (extremely) limited knowledge of HW-design in mobiles there could be 100 of other parts which differ and I didn't think of...

Re: [Intex][LTE] European LTE bands on Intex

I do not know is this the case with Jolla-C vs Intex but In general Snapdragon processor can be the same but if modem is different then you get different supported frequencies.
https://www.qualcomm.com/products/snapdragon/modems

And for general example modem X5 have multible versions:
https://www.qualcomm.com/products/snapdragon/modems/x5
MDM9628
MDM9625
MDM9320
MDM9225

https://www.qualcomm.com/news/releas...gher-speed-lte
"The new chipsets will support LTE Category 4, offering up to 150 Mbps downlink data rates and 50 Mbps uplink data rates. Other standards supported by the MDM9625 chipset include HSPA+ Release 9, EV-DO Revision B, EV-DO Advanced and TD-SCDMA, while the MDM9225 chipset supports HSPA+ Release 9 and TD-SCDMA."

Edit:
Someone mentioned different frequency ranges so it would mean that compination of Modem or Modem+RF-unit would be different.

They can tell many things, cause they have obligations.
But reality may be different.

Which one exactly? Please with photos of chips.
Cause you already said that unlocking bands on Intex doesn't work, and it is simply not true. At least some bands were unlocked.

wich bands have been unlocked? source?

lantern 2016-08-31 11:34

Re: [Intex][LTE] European LTE bands on Intex

after unlocking, Beeline operator started working on Intex. It uses 7 and 20 bands. I don't know which band exactly was unlocked successfully.

Re: [Intex][LTE] European LTE bands on Intex

I don't think that SailfishOS in its current version can be used to make any conclusions on Intex Aqua Fish 4G band support.

First and foremost, 4G internet connection has serious problems on both Jolla 1 and Jolla C (read "doesn't work most of the time") since the 2.0.1.x release and it has been acknowledged by Jolla, yet the serious bug is still present in 2.0.2.51.

So I'd wait for 4G connectivity to be fixed in SailfishOS for supported devices and then judge the differences of unlocked Intex Aqua Fish.

If there are problems that make "4G not working all the time" then it might depend on your operator and the bands they offer service on.

Cannot say about Jolla-C but on both sbj1 and nexus5 devices 4G is extremely reliable for me. My operator is Elisa.

On the Jolla C, 4G is reliable as well in general. At least I haven't experienced any problems so far in the 2+ months I've been using the device.

My 4G mobile internet connection mostly not auto connect when I left my wifi connection, I need restart the toggle or reset flight mode to get it to work

Re: [Intex][LTE] European LTE bands on Intex

Some bad news. I unlocked all bands on the Intex Aqua Fish, but i get no 4G at all. With all 4 german providers. I tried 4 prepaid SIM-cards, and only 3G is working...

Re: [Intex][LTE] European LTE bands on Intex

That's a real shame. I'm still considering getting one as a stop-gap while a wait for something I really want to be released, like an officially supported Fairphone or, dare I say it, the Turing. If not it would support my idea of getting another device like the Pyra or GPD Win or something similar in size as an attempt to replace the trusty N900.

We were spoilt with the N900. Before you had the Nx00 tablets and a phone, then we got both in one. Now it is looking more and more like I might have to go back in time and have both.

Both JollaC and Intex Aquafish, 4G is work perfectly in Hong Kong

Re: [Intex][LTE] European LTE bands on Intex

Thread hi-jack, would these phones work in Australia also? I will probably get told off, and told to Google it, but there are some brilliant minds here that will probably already know.
Thanks in advance

What procedure did you use?

Re: [Intex][LTE] European LTE bands on Intex

Can you please try if it works when you add [4gOn] to the file ril_subscription.conf in directory "/etc/ofono"

I've seen this value in the nexus5 running sailfish...

Re: [Intex][LTE] European LTE bands on Intex

I've edited /etc/ofono/ril_subscriptions.conf

Right?

Code:

[ril_0]
name=RIL1
socket=/dev/socket/rild
ecclistFile=/var/lib/ofono/ril.ecclist

[ril_1]
name=RIL2
socket=/dev/socket/rild2
ecclistFile=/var/lib/ofono/ril.ecclist1

[4gOn]

ciaps 2016-09-03 20:58

Re: [Intex][LTE] European LTE bands on Intex

Well if the Jolla C has the same conf file, this shouldn't be the issue.

Re: [Intex][LTE] European LTE bands on Intex

I have 4G working with Sailfish on Nexus 5 (CM11 base), and also on Aqua Fish. (finland,elisa) Haven't tampered with bands, so technically only 1 of 3 4G bands should be working. Seems stable and all though.

Re: [Intex][LTE] European LTE bands on Intex

Can someone with a jolla C send me the files from the directory /firmware/image/modem_pr please?

I want to see if they are the same for intex...

thanks
