Phone Camera Competition April 2020: Uplifting

The two obvious meanings would be either to shoot something spiritually uplifting, maybe humorous, or stay in direct sense and present something that is literally being lifted up.
But as we learned from past competitions, most fun is to creatively bend the theme into unforseen dimensions.

Rules are as usual:
Photos must be taken during this month (after theme is announced) and posted before voting starts.
Photos must be taken by the posting member.
Photos must be taken with a phone camera.
Post processing is allowed but you have to say what you did.
Users must name the phone and software they used.
Users post only one photo per entry.
Users can change the entry only once.
3 day voting period starts on April 28th at 08:00 UTC and ends at between 08:00 and 23:59 UTC on April 30th.

For the start my entry. It is aloud to change once if I remember correctly.

http://talk.maemo.org/attachment.php...1&d=1585843323

Uplifting. I am possibly gonna make a deal of about 70 N900 phones. That is good info for the community, so should lift up others too. And micro-b browser opening the online market site quite fast. Uplifting. And my sim working occasionally so I could post this. Uplifting.

How is this for uplifting?

2020-03-30 ... Our kids decorated a cake:
https://talk.maemo.org/attachment.ph...1&d=1585925871

2020-04-01 ... And made some brown Es (brownies):
https://talk.maemo.org/attachment.ph...1&d=1585925884

NOT my entries, for three reasons:
- pictures taken by my other half, not by me
- taken before the topic was announced
- one of them was not even taken in this month

Yes, it was their April's Fool prank.

I work from home in the lockdown and my workstation is right next to the kitchen door. At one point the kids came running downstairs, giggling, and announced that they were going to make brownies. They closed themselves in the kitchen. There was a lot of noise coming from there, including a lot more giggling. Later it was time to make lunch, and they instructed me on no ambiguous terms not to use the oven. After lunch they served us their brown Es :)

Re: Phone Camera Competition April 2020: Uplifting

Here is my entry.

Taken this morning, the 7th of April 2020, at around 11:33 British Summer Time (UTC+1), with a Jolla.

I consider it uplifting at a number of levels:
  1. The obvious uplifting force of the helium in the balloon;
  2. The fact that there is still enough helium in there to float at all, after nearly two months;
  3. The fact that #2 allowed us to reuse the Valentine's Day balloon for a very related day today - our wedding anniversary :);
  4. The golden letters hung from the ceiling spelling out another uplifting message (sorry it is mirrored - that is because it is hung to read correctly from the other side, but then it would be against the window and the picture was spoiled);
  5. And lastly, that even the extremely messy room with all the kids' toys and school bags tossed in the middle did not manage to spoil our mood :D

https://talk.maemo.org/attachment.ph...1&d=1586269617

(Oh, and yes, it is my work from home workstation in the background :p)

Gotta take joy in the little things . . .

Our anniversary was last Tuesday. We had carry-out pizza with carry-out carrot cake. My wife wrote "Be my Quarantine" on the card . . . No helium balloons, though . . .

This would as well have matched last month's theme very well, looking at the electro cabling in the background! :rolleyes:

Finally some uplifting news at the grocery store! Still minimal TP (on allocation), but newly locally produced hand sanitizer based on the WHO recipe. Lifted up into the sunshine and the bright blue sky and nice spring green leaves on the trees.

Fortunately our fine state has mostly repealed its Prohibition laws and distilleries are now legal and have diverted some of the production capacity to necessities of the after-times.

Edit:
Forgot while sanitizing to mention that this was taken with an Xperia X running SFOS X and Piggz Advanced Camera.

Here is what lifted me up today, a raspberry cheese cake with chocolate crumble base.
I was only involved in eating (and cleaning the kitchen) since my daughter did it for my wifes birthday.
Taken with Pro¹, just a little cropped in darktable.

She turns 12 in may and was very happy with your compliment, greetings!
Ever since we forbid her to watch stupid beauty, prank & "lifehack" Youtubers last year, she turned to confectionary tutorials which i can say was a move i fully approve.
In between came an origami-tutorial-phase that was not nearly as tasty but dust collecting.

Apparently they can learn . . . My 11 year old successfully cooked macaroni and cheese today! (Boxed variety, but not nearly so phosphorescent orange as in my childhood -- artificial colors are on the outs right now.) Not the classiest of pasta, but still in the family. Ramen, brothers and sisters!

Don't give up hope.

Sorry for dropping by too late...the topic moving up caught my eye but voting started already.
Here's for your viewing pleasure.

This little fellow came to cheer us up during the "Great Lockdown" , and thanks to the "Great Lockdown" we were ready to respond: Nokia 808 Pureview at hand if shot through the not so clean window, normally I use 5Mpix mode as it is meant to be used to maximize zoom performance.

Currently he and his bride are nesting in our garden.
Enjoy and take good care.
