XOHM Baltimore launch Oct. 8 - 810WME availability?
OK, so there's supposedly an event for the Xohm network remnants on October 8th. I'm probably going to take advantage of my press pass for this - not because I am excited about Xohm, but because I am looking forward to the release of that little seen device - the 810WME.
Does anyone have any further info about 810WME release in conjunction with this network launch? I am also interested in learning what I can about the WiMax frequencies supported by the device HW. |

Am I the only one who thinks 8l0WME looks obscene?

Heh, I didn't look at it that way -- I guess the pr3s3nc3 of an 'e' disables my 1337 filter.
All the more reason to include the N and drop the ME... |

Re: XOHM WiMAX Launches
It seems there are currently a few issues with using n810w on Xohm:

Ah, he's still out there then.. he seems to dislike any device I've ever liked, or at least valued as worth looking at. What a guy! :)

Re: XOHM WiMAX Launches
I asked in 2007 how does one change between different devices on Xohm w/o a SIM like authentication mechanism (say if you want to switch Xohm usage from NIT to home modem, or from laptop to wimax/evdo phone, etc.).
The authentication mechanism on 1st generation devices is apparently MAC based with a proprietary connection manager SW. So if you want to switch usage between two devices, you have to register both of them. Apparently, registration process is easy although you do pay more for the luxury of using two devices. |

If so, yes. If not, no. |

I was contacted by Motorola, but nothing from Nokia or NSN. It appears that Nokia did not have the 810w fully interworking with XOHM yet and it is NOT available today. After all this time... bad fumble if that's the case... |

More realization that Xohm is not an open network...

Re: XOHM WiMAX Launches
I experienced the same issue posted on the blog link above... ...at least initially during provisioning of the device. Initially with provisioning I was only able to connect via the XOHM portal - within the hour I had a full XOHM connection and no longer had to use the XOHM portal.
