Camera phone competition April 2016:"Reflections"

Lo and behold, a new TMO Cameraphonecomp™ is here! :D

This time mosen decides on the theme.

But as a contrast to last month, i will nevertheless give you the opportunity to prepare your shots a bit more.
And you might need to, because having a perfect reflection that furthermore is leading the image might profit from a little planning.

Also the spectrum is rather broad.
Take a sunflare, expressing the daytime and leading the pictures mood.
http://mosushi.net/misc/photocomp/reflexion2.jpg

Influence the context of your image, maybe the reflexion gives a hint to where the picture has been taken?
http://mosushi.net/misc/photocomp/reflexion1.jpg

Be it you are not done with bird hunt, check your local lake and hunt for that heron mirroring in the water.
Or maybe go out and check for nice compositions of your cities landmarks reflecting in store windows.

The topic for april is, "reflections".
I would be very happy to see many contestants, nice photos and approaches.
Have fun everybody and humble thanks again for your votes.

And since the description is the longest in the history of TMO Cameraphonecomp™, I think it's clear on what the theme is this month. Good luck everyone!

The rules are:
Photos must be taken during this montH
Photos must be taken by the posting member
Photos must be taken with a camera phone
Users post only one photo per entry
Users can change the entry only once
Users must name the phone they used
(so I could include it for voting)
Last three days of this month are for voting

Re: Camera phone competition April 2016:"Reflections"

Quick question, do the pics have to be as the camera took them? Or are you allowed to do any editing, say enhance the contrast for example? Thx,

J

This is being asked almost every time and has been answered a number of times. As the very first competition stated in its rules, "Post processing allowed (don't do too much!)".

Ápropos aditional lenses were allowed too! ;)

Re: Camera phone competition April 2016:"Reflections"

Yes it's allowed, but the "unwritten rule" is not much colour light or filter adjustment but only crop. We want to keep original features as a "mobile" camera.

Hi All!

I just wanted to share this photo of mine (n900 panorama app) - sadly it is way too old to be my entry for this month but I will try to participate in this contest.

Ok, here's my first participation in the competitiion. It was a strange situation where the sun is setting behind me and the shadows from the mountains next to show across the lake while the sun lit mountain on the other side reflects on the lake. Taken with my N9.

Thanks, I took the picture as soon as I saw the lake so it was still a bit far away. But later when I was closer it wasn't the same anymore as the sun was setting fast. I had been hiking for 9 hours and was going to camp on the shore.

Hi.

I took this one this morning while in a break at the campus where I work. I kept the bin in the shot to give it a bit of perspective. :D

Taken with my Jolla.
Regards.

Not too creative shot but I liked it. Including reflections in water, maybe human reflections who will tell,

Shot with vintage 808 running Delight custom firmware.

Thank you Nokia for this insta-classic one phone to beat them all.

..and for leaving the market with your arrogant games so I don't have to hate you today for still not willing to include PV camera tech in the Maemo Linux line of devices of 2016.

The reflection seems to show an establishment called "TABAK PRESS" which tells me it's not Moline, or any other US airport I've seen.

Suburban tree canopy reflected in suburban manhole cover -- itself covered in the various droppings of the aforementioned canopy.

I was afraid I wouldn't find any reflections on a rainy day stuck at home with a sick kid, but sometimes it just appears. Took said kid out into the cool damp air to let off a little steam from that feverish temperature, and what should appear but a nice, wet, regionally appropriate manhole cover reflecting the nice springtime treescape above.

Nokia N9 with Camera+. Color temperature adjusted with N9 gallery editing tool.

Taken couple of weeks ago when it was really nice weekend to ride a motorcycle in Finland. Taken with Nokia Lumia 830. No editing.

BTW. I use my N9 as GPS mounted on the motorcycle. Also stream music from it to my helmet. Because of the long winter had forgotten how nice it is to use. I guess this was the first time I had it out in the wild since last summer. Still the absolutely best mobile user experience. So smooth, simple and effective.

Okay, I don't get it. Why isn't the picture shown? I first tried to upload it directly from a file, too big. I then tried to share by URL from dropbox link. I don't get how I am supposed to do it. Any help?

Try dl=1 at the end of the URL.

Anyone here familiar enough with dropbox to debug boxeri's image issue? I'd love to see it.

Alternatively, boxeri might try imgur as catbus suggested. Although the N9 uploader tool doesn't work anymore -- probably website changes broke ZogG's nice N9 app. :(

I now tried with imgur. Still the forums add picture function refuses to add it, but when I manually copy/paste the link to the message it seems to work. So wierd.

I would have arranged it myself like last month but I am currently abroad with only a Jolla as a means of connection and we all know how Jolla sucks at editing TMO posts even slightly more advanced than this one.
