I just saw the news about one of our members and Community Council, Gido (Win7Mac), passed away waaaay to young... :( :(
My condolences to his family and I wish a lot of strength and patience to his family, friends and my fellow tmo users. His last post here on TMO is stating "you may prefer to keep on believing..." I would love to keep on believing that he's still here around... :( :( :( Rest in peace Gido, you were like a brother here on tmo. We'll miss you, but you'll be always in our heart... <3 |

Nobody here was supposed to die except possibly me...epic and extravagantly too I might add.. Those were rules. Giedo personally have put a lot of his personal time into this community, and its members. Always taking action when needed, despite being hated, or loved, for it. He have ahad great influence in many of us, and he will be remembered by many. Condolences to his family and friends. |

Gido was one of a kind, I held him in high respect because of his integrity and vision on how we should organize our community.
Altough I never met him personally I corresponded with him a lot with email and on IRC over the years and am proud to call him a friend of mine... I am saddened by his demise and consider him a friend now far away, farther than I can reach any longer. I hope his soul will find rest and peace in the eternal starfields. |

Oh my god... I knew him only from the posts he made here, but he always struck me as a good guy who did a lot of work for this community's benefit.

Very sad news. Gido was very generous with his time and efforts to the community, and he'll be missed by all who knew him :-(
His help with Hildon Foundation, and then in the founding of Maemo Community e.V. cannot be overstated. |

I had more or less unconsciously decided not to write anything in this thread. After all, WTF could it possibly bring.
I'm however both shocked and saddened by this loss for both his family and our community, but also immensely proud of our community, including in particular those who have expressed their condolences here or in the mailing list. Hence I decided to write here, as, selfish as I may be, it does help me in alleviating the sadness I feel. So thank you guys, and RIP Gido. |

I always found it simple to work with Win7Mac, rarely any acidity in his manner of being. I never met him face-to-face, but from our online interactions I sensed he was a caring, kind, & sensitive person. My deepest of condolences to his loved ones, I wish them well in navigating & reconciling this difficult time. Lost for any further words.... |

Is to early to go through havens door. It creates to much pain. But in our memories he remain(s). Nothing can't be revised. Except our way, how we live the day. Take it as an advice. Carpe diem! I don't know him personally but I know how closed ones must feel. My deepest condolences to his family and friends. Thank you Guido to make maemo to one part of your life.
