PySide on N8x0

Hi guys! I was going to install PySide-QT4, but in the repositories there is no libboost-python1.38.0 package...How to fixed this?

hmmm....have you looked elsewhere than the proper maemo repos?
I mean the 3rd party repos...
in my signature there are the "lost gronmayer repos among others project"...
Hunting through them may find what you need if it is not in the official repo.

Yes, I looked at gronmayer... all repositories have only libboost-python1.34.1 ... broken, all broken...

P.S. repositories for fremantle have the correct version of the package

Re: PySide on N8x0

possibly adding the fremantle repo in question and installing a prog that contains the package you need...
that may work...
It is the easy way.
I would suggest if it does work....to disable the fremantle repo afterward...

Or
you could enable the repo and apt the needed package...that may also work...

there are a couple work arounds ...for such a situation.

be prepared for possible required deps along the way.

edit:
It is not uncommon to use the fremantle repos...for the n8x0's
since there are many use cases of bits and pieces of fremantle working just fine ...or were backported to the n8x0's...

Just don't forget to disable the fremantle repos once you get what you need.

This package requires a different version of the gcc(4, diablo have 3.4) :(

Re: PySide on N8x0

If memory serves...
I believe a fellow member worked and got gcc4 version working for diablo....
I cannot remember the link here though...
some looky looing and sifting through recent posts in diablo and n8x0 subforums the last 2 years will show it.
I will also take a gander and see where it is ...
He even gave it to us...
lets see...

Re: PySide on N8x0

first cursory look...
there is gcc5 cross compiler for diablo...
here...
https://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=95479
Lets see if we can find gcc4 now
:)

edit:
there is also a link to toojays 4.9 compiler in the thread...
and another mention for 4.2...elsewhere..

if 4 is needed....it should be do-able...
there should be a thread about it somewhere here...

I was able to download only 4.9...installation is very trivial...
