Sony Xperia XA2 - The next SailfishX device?

Brand new upper-midrange device from Sony.
Interesting in that their new midrange has moved ^up^ to Qualcom versus the mediatek chip found in the XA1.

I don't see high-end as the next device (after 5122 dual-sim), so the XA2 looks like a good bet.

Also looks like a good handset.

What do you think?

Edit - just seen Metsamies has beaten me to the question in the main salifishX thread:

It's worth mentioning about the Xperia XA2 and XA2 Ultra that they both have been released with Android Oreo so they have to support Project Treble (and have kernel 4.4 or higher).
I am not sure if SailfishOS is capable to use the Treble based ROM base at the moment.

does this speak to a wider problem of the sailfish tool-chain getting steadily more and more out of date?

gcc, to name one element, but many more.

i realise tool-chain updates aren't as sexy as apps/features/hardware-support/device-support, but do you think that jolla are going to have to prioritise updating the guts of sailfish later in this year?

project treble seems great for sfos porters tbh. port once and forget about kinda thing. it should hopefully work like SFOS works like HAL. But yes gcc 4.8 is slowing things down.
