why the only sane news to come out of my neighbours to the south since they elected an orange-skinned space alien (come on....its obvious) bent on world domination. someone has finally gone and done the only thing that puts my world back into proper perspective. I I know they have been working with rebreeding the elephant with mammoth dna to get as close as possible to a 100% mammoth again... That project has been a long one in the making... On other news Dave ....some I think you are passionate about... I think we will tackle climate change... and I think we will be pretty enthusiastic about it ... everyone has heard I assume ...that due to climate change the vineyards of Europe are doomed ...France and Germany's most famous vineyards are in threat from the changing climate... Halloween is on the doorstep! Time for prep. Gotta watch the classics...the originals... the Mummy the Wolfman Dracula Frankenstein the Creature from the Black lagoon Dr J. and Mr H. Phantom of the Opera toss in Young Frankenstein for laughs.. then break out the Vincent Price Collection and the Christopher Lee Collection.... bake some Halloween treats... I got the night off then....so it will be a great night... Ooooh! and on my Island ....on the other side of it ...at a lodge there is a group of radio actors that do the classic old time radio shows... they do shows 4 times a year... so I can't miss that! https://twilightradiotheatredotcom.f...pg?w=434&h=555 |

It is LIVE live. https://twilightradiotheatredotcom.f...trt.jpg?w=1100 as in ...you gotta be there. in fact tickets sell out within days after they are announced for sale. they are true old school, with the clothes, the mic's , the sound effect props... here is a local cable news doing a 5 min piece on them . https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wshD7BDpT8I these guys have been doing their show on Gabriola mainly...for years.....but have done a few of the other local islands as well.. they usually do a halloween show, a christmas show, a valentines day show, and a show in the summer. they always do 2 audio plays during a show ...always different.. from the vaults of radio theatre history.. perhaps someone has thought of recording it...or is recording it...audio or video... frankly the point of it is to "listen" ...not watch it... (for educational purposes video is good initially ... it is neat to see how they do what they do though...consummate acting ...to be able to spout the exact lines needed with emotion AND do lightning or gunshot or countless other effects... by hand... with the props ...simultaneously ...I'll say....) hard to say...whether the actors are keen on recording or not. I haven't asked. perhaps they are. I will inquire if I get the chance. I suggest if you really want to see them ...or hear them...you better get your Twilight Theatre Decoder ring... you may win seasons tickets... :D https://www.facebook.com/twilightrad...6797820762023/ actually we have a pretty vibrant arts community on my little island... 3 theaters...countless artisans , artists, bakers, crafters etc... great place it is... and peaceful... removed from the madness of the city...by a 20 min ferry ride. Precious little in the way of crime here... We have had the rare break and enter...but so small an island...with such a small population (4000 people) and a ferry wait to get off the island ...with a ferry that shuts down at 10:30 pm and resumes at 6 am...makes for a difficult getaway for thieves... they usually are caught. other than that it is pretty quiet... more than 75 percent of the island is designated wilderness parkland, we have stringent laws on development, commercial or home...and stringent laws on keeping the environment pristine. It is heaven nestled on these little islands I must say. perfect for me... 5 min away ride on my super soco electric to the ferry...20 min to the city...by ferry...go do a shift at the port authority ...come home... spend my time this time of year prepping for winter...chainsaw and ax ..cutting firewood for the wood stove...is great..then winter to the fall I spend my time painting carving and making harps... couldn't be happier. |
