[ANNOUNCE] : pppoe-dialer - manage and create pppoe connections.
 

A PPPoE-over-Wifi client. Had been working on this a while back, but never got around to completing it, until I saw a post requesting for a pppoe client a week back or so.

Features
* Create and manage PPPoE account details. The accounts are managed from a control panel applet.
* Set an account to automatically connect for selected wireless networks. So e.g once you connect to your home wifi network, your preferred PPPoE account can automatically connect.
* Connection indicator icon in the status bar and status menu plugin, which provides a menu to dial, disconnect or get connection status.

Hope someone finds this useful. It's available from extras-devel; requires that you use the enhanced kernel.

It should support PPP over serial modem (connected via USB host mode) :-)

pali, I hope ur kidding :-) To be honest, I'm not sure I have enough "know-how" to implement support for PPP over serial modem. I think I'd only consider putting the effort depending on how many ppl would actually want it. :-(

@ut0p14n: I did not see your application source code, but I'm thinging that you are using pppd daemon. If this is true, you only need to configure pppd for serial modem... But I'm only thinking about it.

@pali: I use rp-pppoe, which uses pppd, I havent had to write code to directly deal with pppd; nevertheless, perhaps it is possible..

Open the phone's menu, and press the settings icon; once the settings window is open, look under the 'Connectivity' section for 'PPPoE Dial-up Accounts'. If you press this item, a dialog should pop-up that will let you create and configure accounts. Hope that helps.

use which one use model???.....yup...i find it....but also failed....first time...account is type ISP name only???...or will type ISP@XXX???....

Pls help when i press 'PPPoE Dial-up Accounts' nothing happens?

well, there is ppp in the repos, and i have now successfully used my 3g cdma stick via h-e-n to establish a working connection. :)

when i create the account , it asks for username, password and account name but where do i type in the IPaddress for it to dial??
