how do i install mplayer?

do i need to install anything else to install it also.

No, not necessary. Go to the Maemo.org ApplicationCatalog2006, you'll find a link to the Mplayer .deb file. Download it to the 770, doubleclick it to install, and you're off.

Obviously. All the applications in that catalogue are meant for the 2006 OS.

michaelalanjones: If you have any problems with MPlayer, please submit a detailed bugreport (what you did, what you expected to get, what you got) at https://garage.maemo.org/projects/mplayer/, I can't fix problems which I'm not aware of :)
