Possible to use N900 as a dekstop webcam?
 
Title says it all, is it at all possible to run the n900 as a webcam on my PC? yay or nay?

No im not talking about Qik or ustream just talking about using it on my desktop for msn or stuff like that

It is possible, but would take some work.
Something similar was done with the n8x0 series. See here.

You could stream the webcam to an network port using gstreamer via the command line, and in that way make it a "network webcam" - which could work for some desktop software, but not all.

Agreed with this. Basically there is a client for the computer (for the major platforms, I had it working on Linux myself), and then the 'server' runs on the phone, which they also have for the N9.
