Show off your Maemo 5 screenshots

I really hope someone ports OpenOffice to Maemo and gives it a nice Maemo UI, but that's a pretty big task. So until that happens...

OpenOffice Writer running under Fremantle, using Fremantle GTK theme (but still needing some serious UI tweaking -- those scroll bars are microscopic):

Note the load applet; one bar for processor load. OpenOffice doesn't really stress out the processor much.

OpenOffice in the dashboard; multitasking FTW:

Could I help out with the ui at all, functionality seems strong, but the ui is kind of soft.

Re: Show off your screenshots

You can help by installing OpenOffice on your desktop, then playing with the UI options to find the best layout for a tiny 800x480 screen...

Thanks to timsamoff for the background (and, yes, I know about the black border around the buttons). Will be in Hermes v0.1.1.

Now, you can turn the N900 to portrait orientation and continue using StockThis.

It seems isn't a good moment to buy Apple :p

Edit: just saw a bug with the screenshot, changing to the right one.

How is YOUR Desktop set up?

Personally I'm using the following setup:

"Contacts" panel:
http://share.ovi.com/media/mmurfin87...murfin87.10011
http://media.share.ovi.com/m1/lt/148...49c72743b3.jpg

"Media" panel:
http://share.ovi.com/media/mmurfin87...murfin87.10008
http://media.share.ovi.com/m1/lt/148...c37c237b56.jpg

"Web" panel:
http://share.ovi.com/media/mmurfin87...murfin87.10003
http://media.share.ovi.com/m1/lt/148...009895874c.jpg

"Utility" panel:
http://share.ovi.com/media/mmurfin87...murfin87.10007
http://media.share.ovi.com/m1/lt/148...ef0e70f07c.jpg

The Web panel and the Utility panel are probably going to go through some revisions because i'm not quite happy about the separation of functionality. I'd really prefer to have a Web panel, Utility panel, and a kind of PIM panel, but then I'd be over the 4 panel limit.

Is there a place to increase the 4 panel limit?

Show your N900 Desktops

I'm interested to see how people are using their 4 desktops on the N900.

I'm looking for inspiration....... for now, my main desktop looks like this:-

http://i49.tinypic.com/2i8y8ms.png

I can fit another row of Contacts (with slight overlap), so that will give me 6 Contact shortcuts on my main desktop.
Eventually, I will get people's photos (not big on Facebook, so Hermes cant help me).

Haven't done much with the other three..... one looks like this so far:-

http://i46.tinypic.com/15qckrm.png

Another one will probably just be Contact shortcuts for work people.

Please post your screenshots here.

I'm only running 3 desktops. Don't really need 4. I could even condess everything into two, I suppose.

Edit: Condense. I really noe haw to spel guud... ugh.

Re: Show your N900 Desktops

That's not a bad idea. I might stick to 3 desktops until I have a need for the 4th.

My unique desktop (I disabled the 3 others)

http://img694.imageshack.us/img694/5...9120811563.png

I don't like shortcuts and prefer access apps through the main menu :)

By the way, the fm transmitter is really ugly, I would muck prefer a direct access to fm transmitter through the status bar option, like for bluetooth. Is there already somewhere I can vote for that enhancement?

I really like this thread ( since I'm still waitting for mine ), Does only using 3 screens do anything for power, or is it just saving space for utilization.. basically is it only because you guys dont need the extra sceen. either way lov'n the pic's it is giving me some ideas on how to set mine up, thaks guys :o

It doesn't save battery as far as I am aware, but of course it makes it easier to find what you are looking for when you are cycling through the desktops.

I suppose it depends on how many desktop widgets you manage to cram on to the desktops ;)

yep, funny thing is i knew someone would comment on it. I think having extra screens with contact and apps won't drain the battery it's the functioning widgets that gets you...

*And moderator imho i think the n8xx desktop tread and n900 desktop tread shouldn't be merge becuase before it kicks into gear people would pass off on it due to going through 115 or 116 pages to get to the n900 deaktop. I'm also curious in all the types of ways people are setting up their n900 desktops also and again imho of course...*
