Can we live with 2GB MyDocs?
I'm before the decision how to repartition my device.
The most easy way would be to exchange ext3 and fat partition. But is 2GB enough for MyDocs? Ovi-maps needs much space in MyDocs. Perhaps Sygic too (since pre1.3 I've lost Sygic which wasn't restored correctly. but there is still data from Sygic in my MyDocs. I don't know what.) How many data of MyDoc can be transferred to other directories? How much memory is needed? ((Feature request: New versions of Ovi-Maps and Sygic maps that don't use MyDocs!!)) |
Re: Can we live with 2GB MyDocs?
Pardon me, but why would you brainlessly exchange the capacity of 'home' and 'MyDocs' partitions? Creating your own isn't that hard at all...
Here is mine with 7GB home, ~21GB MyDocs and 0.75GB swap: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/4469013/n900/pt_table and use this wiki site to "write it up": http://wiki.maemo.org/Repartitioning..._compatible.29 |

Thank you for this practical help.
That was exactly what I needed. If I've got the table I'm sure that I won't make a typing mistake. I'll probably do the same thing like you! |

What would you copy to that small space? A few mp3? one or two video? Shortly you solve a problem, but makes another: Can we live with 2GB MYDOCS? |
Re: Can we live with 2GB MyDocs?
What exactly do I need to keep USB storage mode?
a) The directory MyDocs? b) A fat partition? c) A fat partition with MyDocs? Can I put MyDocs without any loss on an ext3 partition and use the another VFAT partition for data exchange with USB storage mode? Or can I even use an ext3 directory for USB storage mode? |

Or simply edit the /home/user/MyDocs/Drive/Maemo/settings.ini file :)
Look at ResourcePath=/../../Res MapPath=/../../Maps Change it to ResourcePath=/../../../Res MapPath=/../../../Maps Then move the Maps and Res folders from /home/user/MyDocs/ to /home/user/ and voilą you have Sygic on your /home/ partition :) I have a 2GB MyDocs partition too and this is more livable for than a 2GB /home/ partion for me :) |
