i also see my apps on Chinese and Russian forum. most funny thing is that to share it, they bought at least one time on ovi store. i found that funny, as they are also freely distributed on apps for Meego. :p
don't bother with crappy ads version, there is simple way to block it: for example pointing ads server to localhost in hosts file. Personally i made free apps, free as libre. i distribute them for free as 0$ and a low price at the same time. So it's a choice of the user to bought them, it's like a donation. |

someone who is able to edit /etc/hosts is smart enough to pick the upstream floss gratis binary and install it :-)
yes dual distribution sounds good ... but I wanted to avoid delivering gratis apps trough a unlibre channel ... so gratis trough libre appsformeego , and pay through unfree ovi ... this is call for motivation to join the movement ... but what is happening here is pure warez but I dont want to be part of it because i am sure it will cost a lot to users , let say those binaries are infected with malware (trojan from any mafia or gov), the social point is too big to be blindly accepted... even more at larger scale ... I'll be curious to have feedback from the Chinese pple over here... |

bad news !
Software stores in China, it is difficult to pay successful I think it may be because the SP service provider Developer can be using the SN,it can also avoid pirate we can buy it for a guy, then the guy can pay for you by PayPal Gravity is a good example |

Well, I for example got Chinese localization of Mieru from a random guy in China per email, even without asking. :)
Also found quite a few Chinese threads about Mieru, but that was before I fixed the Ovi regional availability so that Mieru would properly show up in the store. BTW, the forums are quite readable using Google Translate - just translate it directly to English, as that seems to give the best results. Anyway, still quite a letdown from Nokia. Even thou all my apps on Ovi are free (in both meanings), most of the downloads are from China. And I expect that the situation for paid apps is probably similar, which really isn't nice for the publishers. |

Oh noes, China was one of my best customers :) !
It's strangely gratifying feeling knowing N9 is the last Nokia I'll be doing software for. |

I also got the mail and thought "Stupid Nokia...."
No ad in China then no paid app. In-app purchase might be the way to go but honestly with no future in Nokia Store, I won't rush to implement IAP. Besides, the price in China is set rather low (one sale in US = 6 sales in China) that losing China isn't that bad. I hope Jolla Store will be more reasonable... |
