Me?
Genius? perhaps a wondrous Flat bread of Fabulousness.. perhaps an incredible Croissant of Creativity even... .. hardly genius... but it is kind of you. Now then...the question on everyone's mind is ... where the hell has Rid gone? Rid ... did you blow yourself up trying to use the cloning tools v1? Hm, I think that either Rid blewed hisself up-ed... or... the cloning was a complete success... and he is now fighting "Rid-O a Rid-O" in a battle of wits and survival against his clone... or ... the clone killed him... got "Rid" of the body (har har).... took all his money took his I.D. ... is impersonating the now dead original Rid ... and has buggered off to N. Dakota to bask on the beaches and live the good life.. If he comes back ...it probably isn't "him" anymore... so somebody is gonna have to shoot the copy... I can't do it... I saw "Old Yeller" far too many times.. Poor Rid.. (original Rid that is...) Miss him... |

Re: Problem with cloning OS to new SD Card.
From a philo and Bio aspect of course you are completely correct.
From a sociological framework though.... If someone managed to clone themselves... this society would not look favourably upon the copy. Hence the first understanding after the event I would have...and knowing my clone would be having the very same thought ...is that.." we both must immediately try to dispose of the other ..." ...for the very obvious reasons... The clone if found out would not be treated as equally as the original in our society...if not killed...he would be dissected.. So.. naturally self preservation dictates ..he must try to kill me...dispose of my body...and replace me. Of course the same thoughts will be going through my head. First instinct regarding the socio dynamic currently... We would try to kill the other. However ...if by some fluke...societally ...the situation turned on its ear... And everyone was spontaneously cloned at the same time... Why that will immediately make a HUGE difference ... Knowing utter chaos would be breaking out...everywhere.. My and my copies first instinct wouldn't be to kill each other... I would know survival would best be counted on trust in such an "event".. I could completely trust him...and I got his back ...jack. So Also...from the standpoint of the copy being identical ..from at the moment of creation ...yes...but ..after that...the experiential nature of creation dictates that we both will become different from each other. So there is that aspect as well... Lots people think it is cut and dried ...in a story plot way...but the reality is it would just get real messy...real fast... |

No...that is a completely new complement I have heard..
never been called that... been called many other things that aren't repeatable in public though.. cool huh?.. so how cool are these Snapchat glasses? are they Foss? are they maemo compatible? give me super powers? will they blind me? how are they powered? I hope in an environmentally friendly way...I prefer harnessing the power of the mighty Gerbil. ...Clean ...non polluting (well they do crap a lot..but it is bio organic) ... and affordable to run on a wheel... what do they look like ? these? http://galeri.uludagsozluk.com/58/elton-john_34590.jpg Please say they don't. |

Re: Problem with cloning OS to new SD Card.
£130 is not such an unexpected price for a gadget. They look cool and can be useful in some situations. But, although I found all sorts of details about pricing and how to buy them, even info on compatibility requirements and battery life, I could not for the life of me find the basic thing. Namely, the camera resolution and picture quality.

Re: Problem with cloning OS to new SD Card.
would I get them?
no... would I make them.. or something like them jury rigged out of toothpicks pipe-cleaners and q-tips? most certainly... I have no desire to "chase the (tech.) dragon" ... for any sort of device ... it is aimless... a continuous loop I have no interest in following to end up...as always... exactly where I left off... I believe in exactly what is needed to survive in this civilization ...and no more...no less... I determined that a while ago now... there is more than enough DIY options out there...to accomplish the same ends. What cannot be done practically and affordably DIY... Then investing in the barest minimum of tech needed to fulfill whatever day to day need required being the only obligation. Others may contend that due to their work-work ... that they cannot take such a path... that is probably valid and true.... For myself...I aimed ...always... to make my life simpler and less cluttered with distraction and time and money consuming novelty... It has not been easy to accomplish.. in this world nowadays.. ... consequently I also feel I am fortunate now that I have enough free time to commit to finding alternates that can suffice ...and that do not need specific gear to accomplish what is needed in my day to day work. |
