Is there anything comparable to the N810?

I still haven't seen anything that comes close to it --- either made by Nokia, Archos or anybody else. Have you seen any device that is just as good?

* Similar screen size
* Pull out keyboard (NO VIRTUAL!)
* USB host
* Open OS
* Wifi, bluetooth, etc.
* Easy Debian (for Open Office)
* Moderate, affordable price
* Slots for expanding memory
* Capable of running various OSes (with or without flashing)

Just want to know what my options are for the future. I just don't see any options right now. :)

Thanks in advance for your thoughts!
H.

Errr, then why not? The N900 seems to fit the specs well. Except maybe for the "Moderate, affordable price" bit...

The pandora would come closer than the n900. The specs are about the same as for the n900, but without the phone functionality.

It may take a while before you could get your hands on one, though:

That one's a bit subjective, but it does fails these:

To answer the original question, check the competitors forum for various SmartQ/SmartV and Optima devices.

There's the PsiXPDA http://psixpda.com/content/psixpda-pocket-computer

Which is a 5" touchscreen device, with similar design to an N97, but obviously a bit larger. 16GB of storage internally + a microSD slot and it retails for £449 (UK) including XP.

It's atom based so should run linux. They are willing to sell it without Windows though, so it would be interesting to see what it came down to.

Other than that I don't know of anything closer than the N900. the Dell streak, and the archos units are interesting, but do not have physical keyboards, and I miss the keyboard even when I use ny N800!

The Dell Streak is a spiritual successor to the n800 IMHO, am very tempted by it, if I didn't have the U820 then I'd have one by now - the dock with its HDMI out is very appealing to make it a proper multi-media capable handheld.

I was hoping that there'd be a nokia n910, an n810 with an n900's guts, or even slightly bigger - the stereo speakers in the n800 were very good, was an excellent bed-side computer.

Unfortunately, it uses the GMA500, which makes running Linux a challenge.
