Really a great work. How about changing the ui colors to one of the four pocket trademark colors? No issues with current colors though

bibek 2013-01-02 06:13

Do you plan to integrate the text parser api? Pocket will grant you access to it if you mail them, or I could give you the docs I got from them few months ago.

I asked for Article API access but they need to do some changes first before accepting new users. Quoting their response:

Quote:

At the moment, we are not accepting new requests to access our Article View API. There are some important changes that must be made first. However, we’ll be sure to let you know once we’re ready.
And about the colors, I will see what I can do for the next release :)

Re: [Announce] Pockeego - Pocket (ReadItLater) client for Harmattan

I can't wait for them to give you the api, the look and feel is already a lot nicer than meepocket. Also the dark theme, which that is missing.

Thanks a lot for your work, ill donate tomorrow.

This is great! I seem to be having a problem, though. To try it out, I went to a random website and shared it with Pockeego. I checked in your app and the page was there. No problem. However, every other attempt i have had at sharing with Pockeego since has resulted in no pages showing up in Pockeego. Is there something I am missing?

I'm getting a similar thing, when I try to share its opening another pockeego app and not the article. The 0.1 version didn't do it that way.

And ignore me, now its fixed...

I am getting this issue in addition to the issue I originally stated. If I am lucky that one of the articles I attempt to send to Pockeego gets there (I can successfully send something to Pockeego about 1 in every 5 attempts), I cannot open it. It either opens another Pockeego app, or simply does nothing.
I really hope this gets worked out because I could get a lot of use out of this app!

Can you please show me one of the links that has issues so I can try it?

I just went through by browser history to test. amazon.com, ebay.com, several articles from mynokiablog.com...

I have had all of those links show up in Pockeego, and I have had all of them NOT show up in Pockeego. I have not been able to open any of the urls that made it to Pockeego.

Seems to be working great! I also love the aesthetic changes.
One more issue: i can't seem to share from Web Feeds app. It is a google reader app in the store. The native reader shares fine, but not this one. Any possible fox for this? Thanks again for the great work!

I will install Web Feeds and check.

Just so I am clear, the option to share to Pockeego is their, it just never arrives in Pockeego.

Web Feeds app is using the Sharing API wrong, please contact the author. I could add a workaround for the next version but if better if he fixes it. He is sending the title of the site as the URL and the URL as the title.

Thank you for looking into to this so fast! I will contact the author, but updates were promised long ago and never happened, so I fear nothing will come of it. Thanks again!

Let us know how it goes. It would be very handy to send feeds to pocket

That part works fine unless the site is broken like the example above, just doesn't have the reader api yet. But you can share to pocket from the browser now

I sent the author a message. Hopefully we will get an answer.

As of right now, Pockeego can share feeds from the native feed reader flawlessly. I just happen to use the Web Feeds app which doesn't allow sharing with Pockeego right now.

Re: [Announce] Pockeego - Pocket (ReadItLater) client for Harmattan

app is quite nice... only thing i don't like ist the look of the headline... nice that you integrated the four colors of pocket, but the blue and the letters look bit of made in ms paint :)

Re: [Announce] Pockeego - Pocket (ReadItLater) client for Harmattan

With this application I can see the contents of the saved pages offline?

munozferna 2013-01-16 04:11

Re: [Announce] Pockeego - Pocket (ReadItLater) client for Harmattan

@snooky I will change that when I publish it to the store.

@panukoo no, I don't have access to the article view api yet

I don't mind the design, but my user name (imaginaryenemy) is so long that the name (Imaginaryenemy's Pocket) covers up the Home/Favorite/Archive selector. I can still click the selector, but it doesn't look very nice.

Re: [Announce] Pockeego - Pocket (ReadItLater) client for Harmattan

New update:
* Added workaround for Web Feeds app
* New header
* Filter by type of item (Article, Image, Vide, All)
* New icon (to avoid breaking Pocket brand)

[Donations are welcome!]

imaginaryenemy 2013-01-16 19:16

Great work! Everything looks and works great. Thanks for the work around.

Not currently, I will work on it in the next version, not sure where to put it thought, replace pull to refresh with pull to search? since there is a refresh button already on topbar.
