Slide Rule, an Advanced Graphing Calculator, Released
Hello, All!
I have just released the Maemo version of Slide Rule, an advanced graphing calculator. In addition to the usual arithmetic duties, Slide Rule can do these things: * Simplify ratios without resorting to floating point. * Simplify algebraic expressions. * Plot algebraic expressions. * Compute derivatives analytically. These features make Slide Rule more similar to the popular TI-8x machines from Texas Instruments than a generic run-off-the-mill calculator. In the future, I hope to add more features to the application, such as computing limits, numeric integrals and differentials, solving algebraic equations, and so forth. You can get Slide Rule from the web page: http://fms.komkon.org/SlideRule/ or from the Extras repository. If you like Slide Rule, please, make sure you vote for it here: http://maemo.org/downloads/product/OS2008/sliderule/ |

Thanks for this release.
One suggestion I think would improve programs like sliderule and mathjini is some graphical feedback to the user when a button is pushed, like Apple does: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=46oxLBwgMgU mathjini does give some graphical feedback, but it's not dramatic enough. |

Hi. Thanks for making Sliderule, I've been using it quite a bit lately. One thing I'm missing (maybe I haven't found it?) are some constants, namely e and Pi (I'm sure some other would be useful as well, but I don't use them often). Entering 10 digits by hand every time is a bit of a pain :)
Cheers! |

Re: Slide Rule, an Advanced Graphing Calculator, Released
Hello All!
I have just updated the Slide Rule for Maemo to version 1.0.1. In the new version, the keypad buttons are in the "calculator" order rather than the "phone" order. Also, I have made the top row of N810 keys generate digits, even when F-key is not pressed. The new Slide Rule can be obtained from Extras or from http://fms.komkon.org/SlideRule Enjoy! |

fms, good work!
but I wanna calculator with some improved features, not just only scientific one 1) units convertion (all possible) 2) functionality for programmers - binary, hex and octal support, bitwise operations, logical operations (on integers like in C/C++) 3) programmable functions support to extend it by my own 4) date and time calculations do you plan further development? I'd like get similar functionality (but not mandatory look and feel) like in NumLock Calculator for Windows desktop (http://numlock-calculator.software.informer.com/ or bunch of pages on Russian can be found via Google) offtopic: aren't you Marat Fayzullin who was permanent member of USENET relcom.talk conference at 90th middle?... |

No, I've not added it yet, I can provide the sources and patches if anyone wants to add it.
