PackRat - how to find the repository for any Maemo App

2 Attachment(s)
I've found this online app to be rather useful when finding out 'where did that app come from'.

Site: http://ageofikon.info/packrat/

Example, I search for "Dialcentral" and the next page shows me the entries it can find and clicking on them will show what repositories they reside in.

(Sorry for crud screenshots).

Like so many areas outside of tmo the design and user interface is horrible. I like packrat as it gives the information I want including download information on one page. To each his own I guess.

Also, I can target my search to one OS version (OS2008 for instance) which is useful when doing a more wide search for, say, "clock".

If type in "Clock" in the maemo.org link I get a plain list of apps without stating what OS version they are for - compare that to a targeted search using PackRat.

I can also, if I want, search just within a certain repository.

The maemo.org/packages option is good to have but I sure wouldn't call it "KISS" as it's rather horrendous in both presentation and UI.
