Hi all,

sometime ago, I asked is there a way to show mouse X and Y coordinates in real time when a rectangle is dragged. I had the code saved on Sublime Text, but sadly the application crashed and took ALL of my notes with it.

I have been through all my own posts and done a general search of TMO, but I cannot find the article, I'm quite certain this response was posted here and not on TJC. I've also done a general search on Google to find the same/similar articles but with no joy.

thanks in advance,

EDIT: to make things clearer, a picture paints a thousand words, no?, okay.....

So when the red rectangle is dragged anywhere on the lockscreen, the x and y positions update, giving me the actual x and y position in real time.

Hi there,
you can search for threads started by you:

I think the thread you're searching for might be this one:

Thanks for the tips, but I already did what you suggested anyway, I'm fully aware of 'Markkyboy/statistics' ;)

And no, I've been through that thread a few times, it is close because it addresses dragging rectangles, but the response I saw showed how to have the x and y coordinates in real time text, as you drag. I've also searched quite heavily via Google....it's out there somewhere ;)

Well, without knowing what you want, you could always just do something with onXChanged and onYChanged to do some further processing.

Or you might even just reference the x/y values in some Label text or something.
As long as the dragging already works, outputting some Component's attributes is more or less trivial.

cheers!

Is exactly what I've set out to do. It is rather frustrating to know there is a thread out there somewhere with the exact answer, the code is really very short as well, I just cannot recall the content, your response was my next thought :)
