Technology Preview: MADDE

Hi,

today the developer platform team presents a new developer tool for Linux, Windows and Mac OS X called MADDE as a technical preview. The whole story you can read in this blog-post.

Be aware that this is a technical preview and not production quality yet.

We appreciate your feedback. Let us now what you think about it. File a bug, if you find one.

The documentation on how to use it you will find in the wiki.

Have some nice Christmas days,

Daniel

Uhm.... I don't understand what can I use it for...
does it substitute Scratchbox? Do I have to install it inside Scratchbox? Or is it totally another kind of tool?

Thanks!

1. Does it have a Local Client or does it require you have an actual n900 to do your testing / debugging. Looking a the wiki instructions it appears to require a n900 to do the testing/debugging.

2. If not, is a local n900 "emulator" going to be developed for Madde?

3. Is Madde basically SB compiled for other environments, or something else? (Downloading it as I type <G>)

Nathan.

Got to the bit which says
Quote:

mad qmake
Erm, i can't figure out how to tell it to compile the one i just made in the above examples.
Using the windows software
But i'm assuming i need something like

mad qmanke ./home/name/qthello/qtprog.pro ?
Tis my guess anyway?!?!

Re: Technology Preview: MADDE

Maybe I'll file this later, but consider this a bug report. On my Macintosh, the qt_simple and simple templates seem to work fine, but the following fails:

mad pscreate -t lib_simple lsimple

cd lsimple

mad qmake

mad make

[successfully created liblsimple.so.1.0.0 inside the build directory]

mad dpkg-buildpackage

It creates the source/binary package, but it gives the following error when trying to create the debian package:

make[1]: *** No rule to make target `liblsimple.so.1.0.0', needed by `install'. Stop.

Also, there is no qt_lib_simple template in the environment I downloaded.

Thanks! You fixed my problem though!
The example - http://wiki.maemo.org/MADDE/Qt_Example#Introduction
Is just missing one line

cd lsimple or cd Qthello

All works for me now!

No problem. I fixed the wiki. I hope it's qthello and not Qthello for all platforms.
