[How To] change the CPU frequencies using Queen BeeCon widget

since i had no simple 'how to' to use the Queen BeeCon widget to change between CPU Frequencies i thought id write my own

1.if you successfully managed to overclock your N900 then you can proceed, if not then follow the instructions in this tutorial to overclock your N900 HERE
2.download Queen BeeCon widget HERE

3.now this is how it should look like at the end

4.http://i24.piczo.com/view/4/2/g/c/5/...41_26781_2.png

5.click on the desktop menu>add widget>Queen BeeCon widget
http://i24.piczo.com/view/4/2/g/c/5/...42_28640_2.png

6. now you will have a new widget but it wont look exactly the same as in the following picture
http://i24.piczo.com/view/4/2/g/c/5/...43_29689_2.png
click on the Settings Icon.

7.choose the height and width of your widget

8.clear all the extra icons if you'd like as so:

http://i24.piczo.com/view/4/2/g/c/5/...46_20401_2.png

9.Click on Add Cmd
add a title you like
and then the overclocking command

10. the commands you will want to use are as follow:
Code:

sudo kernel-config load lv;sudo kernel-config limits 250 805
that means to load the lv mode and set the limits from 250 to 805

the limits you can use are all found in the link in the step one

DISCLAMER: i am not responsible for any bricked devices,if you dont know what your doing then leave this or ask for a more professional help.

i really hope this post was useful to you and thanks to No!No!No!Yes! for the amazing widget and for jakiman for his amazing tutorials :D

So if I want to set the starving profile with ease I just do this right >

sudo kernel-config load starving;sudo kernel-config limits 250 600

Btw thanks for this

Thanks, I'll give this a try sometime, right now I'm using bakuur's oc script, but it's tiring to type in that stuff every time I want to set the starving profile.

Good Stuff

okay great guys :D
anyways @RenaldoTT
with the OC script you can simply type root
then press the UP arrow
it will take you to the last commands executed
including the "sh /home/user...." command
but yes a widget is the best, easy and reliable every single time
and a small note when you get a phone call or make one your minimum limit will change to 125Mhz. its a bug
im trying to find a walkthrough for that but i need some time
so keep in mind that when you get a phone call your limits are changed * useful tip i thought i should add ;)*

Well that's another bug that I haven't noticed but it won't bother me since I barely get calls on my N900 but thanks for the tip and heads up

It would be better to use

Code:

/usr/sbin/kernel-config load lv;/usr/sbin/kernel-config limits 250 805
As kernel-config have sudoers-file already you don't need root to use it. You just need to add it's location. Not all have enabled sudo.
