N810 first drive

Hi there. Have a chance to get a very good condition n810 with Nokia sleeve. No extra accessories and qwertz layout. 70€ is a fair price nowadays? Never had an n810. Is it still usable nowadays? Thanks

The price seems to be OK for me.
They are rare nowadays, and usually much more expensive (at least in Poland).

On N900 and N9 i have "some experience". On N810 it is my first try and i don't know much about it and where to start from. I used it a few moments and the OS seems more intuitive than maemo

OS2008 of N810 is actually Maemo 4.
You can transfer files to it with USB-stick, find only right type of microUSB-USB A -cable. And remember you cannot charge with USB-port you need small round-connector in Nokia charger cable.

If you want program it here is good tutorial:

Also you can start where I started with 5 years ago:

user endsormeans knows lot about it, his signature has good linkis.

After you have readed those..you start think why Nokia didn't put mobile data in it and then you start think why not somebody make N810 upgrade board these days, because the form factor is one of the best..

And it is usable nowadays...it will be timeless classic.

I think there was a way connect USB-ethernet-adapter (example D-Link DUB-E100) to N810 to get normal ethernet cable-connection to router. With fast search I didn't find the that hint page anymore...I hope that somebody can help you better

I don't come to "Talk" as often as I used to ...so I missed this topic the last few times I've been back.

Yup, the n810 had the best form factor.
It was a lovely build.
The n800 had it's benefits.
A larger screen, and 2 SD card slots.
I still use both. (I have 3 of each)
I use them daily for music, audiobooks, streaming radio.
And for power outages due to storms.
I have my "desert island" playlists of audiobooks, music and film on them.
And solar chargers to keep them running.
Lots of fun.

So although I haven't been around often the last while, it doesn't mean that I don't use my fav devices.

I will ...in the New Year ... make it a resolution to stop in at least once a week and see how everyone is.
