Chinese n9 wont root
 

Hi I Have just got a chinese n9 which I am try to root but I cant find the release details on the sim holder both are blank. I thought flasher might tell me the firmware using flasher -i command but when I plug the phone in (turned off), the phone just charges and flasher doesnt seem to be able to see the phone - can anyone help me with this?
Also the nokia software updater doesnt detect the phone either whilst the pc does.

I bought it from a wholesaler on the china mainland, cost $48. I think maybe it has had its software modified to suit their censorship, there is no twitter, face book, youtube etc and I cant download or connect to the web

Why? So we can all have a laugh?
The chinese "n9"s bear only a superficial resemblance and do not run Meego or any other Nokia software. Anyone know what they actually run? Most likely Linux on some sort, but so do most smart-phones, except the ones that are BSD-based :)

From the sounds of it then I will have to put up with it as it is. It's not the worst I've paid $50 for I cant complain, would have been nice to upgrade it though, Many Thanks!

What does Chinese have to do with your problems

Well he has purchased a fake N9 from China; you know those that have 2 SIMs or are called the Lumia 800 hence his issue...

I think you need a Chinese flasher as well or else you will create a new creature...

This is fake with MT6252 or something similar inside (its about 100 MHz speed). it have no OS and never will have. It using some preflashed logics to call and sms. Some devices have NES emulators inside. And nothing more.
