I dont know if its been discussed before, I could not find using the search option

I am struggling to forward/rewind music/video to the right part I want, if I hold down the forward button it skips too slow. If I drag the scroll bar it skips huge chunks.

I am proposing that the rewind/forward button has 3 speeds, so you can tap it up to 3 times to speed up or slow down.

A go to feature option. You can also type in the minute/second you want to go or skip to.

Zoom/stretch option. Sometimes the videos are not the right size..

Better volume control interface. Currently there is a lot of difference when just going down one bar.A number interface would be better,

The phone volume keys should be master volume only. The media volume should be independent. So if master volume is %75 then the media player volume should not exceed %75 master volume when on max volume in media player.

So if I turn down the master volume to %50 the volume should reduce, even though the media player is at %100..

When I am listening to music and the phone screen is turned off I cannot reduce/increase the volume. This is annoying when the phone is in my pocket and I have to take it out and turn on the screen then can access the volume control. The phone volume keys should be active even when the screen in turned off or in secure mode.

Finally other phones can change track when you shake the phone, I believe this is possible with the N900 hardware, the software should have an option to support this feature.

this is the same modification I wanted to propose:
I would really really appreciate a plugin to skip song and change volume while the device is locked.
IMHO may be a nice idea to use the power off key and the camera key as "shift" to choose between.
ie: while locked:
pwr+vol(up/down) = vol up/down
camera + vol(up/down) = next/previous track.

Is this that hard to code? I will be glad to provide such a modification but I've no time and no competences for doing it.
