flashing n900 Vista
 

I want to flash my n900 and I am stuck on an error on Windows Vista cmd terminal.

First saved 3 files on C:\program files\maemo\flasher-3.5
maemo_flasher-3.5_2.5.2.2.exe
RX-51_2009SE_2.2009.51-1_PR_COMBINED_MR0_ARM.bin
RX-51_2009SE_1.2009.41-1.VANILLA_PR_EMMC_MR0_ARM.bin

Then cd to C:\program files\maemo\flasher-3.5

then
flasher-3.5.exe -F RX-51_2009SE_2.2009.51-1_PR_COMBINED_MR0_ARM.bin -f -R

and I get
flasher-3.5'.exe is not recognized as an internal or external command,operable program or batch file.

I have Googled and found that you can not flash with W7. Did not see anything about Vista. Can I flash with Vista 32bit? Or roundaway, apart from XP boot image ISO?

Try to find an XP 32bit machine or an Ubuntu one.

Download Ubuntu Live CD. I used 11.1 Here's a http://iso.linuxquestions.org/downlo...sktop-i386.iso to the 32bit iso.

No problems here with Vista 32bit.

(Almost) OK so far.

But here may be first mistake.

You have to install the flasher tool first.
Execute the downloaded file
maemo_flasher-3.5_2.5.2.2.exe
and this will install the flasher-3.5.exe.
Afterwards you may flash.

You may of course use XP/Linux ISO or VM, but will work on your PC directly also.
