hi,

there is a lot of useful getting started information pasted inside this page.
even if you do not enter the competition, you should still be able to get involved in qt development by reading the links from there.

Seems to have flown under the radar, but Qt has released documentation for Qt for Maemo here. It even has examples for how to correctly implement stackable windows and other maemo-specific widgets.
