[ZIP-Release] Blue Nature
 

Hi fellow friends of themes and customization!

As d-iivil is busy these days with Theme Customizer and CSSU stuff it became very quiet here. So I thought I share my work I did some time ago: Blue Nature - a blueish version of Nokias Digital Nature theme.


This is how it looks:

It is only a modified version of Digital Nature. So don't expect anything new or amazing. Simply a bit of Gimp here and a bit of Gimp there.

Download the zip from here and copy its content to on your device. The contained css and gtk files use Awoken icon theme and the Ubuntu font. If you don't like it or don't have them installed use Theme Customizer to change it to your liking.

To put it simply: This theme rocks. I have been using it for a week and can't find a single flaw in it, only the other way around.

The only "flaw" i saw, is that all icons are mono coloured.
With different colours you could distinguish them bettter.

Dont you know how to install it?

Just download the ZIP file to your PC extract it to your computer so u just have the one folder with its contents, Copy the folder to your MyDocs folder on N900

Open up terminal sudo gainroot

then cd MyDocs

mv blue_beta /opt/usr/share/themes/

and thats it

what is the are the icon set and wallpaper used in theme, it doesn't seem to apply, i added the theme using theme customizer coz it didn't appear in the theme settings.

I got it to work, just copied the content of the directory to /opt/usr/share/themes/beta_blue and not to /opt/usr/share/themes/beta_blue/beta_blue

also i got the icon pack used it's the AwOken theme pack applied by theme customizer

still i need to find the wallpapers used, any suggestion ?

Lucas. Can you give me a little help? My output results are:

Usage: mv [Option]... source dest
or: mv [Option]... source... directory

what's next? I still don't see the theme in the settings or theme customizer?

Just make sure you don't have double "beta_blue" directory in

/opt/usr/share/themes ... also i renamed it to "blue" that's how i got it to work and it's now shown in both settings and theme customizer

Hmm, what do you mean? The original wallpaper came pre-installed on my Nokia and was orange on black. It's called digital_nature4 and can be found here: http://www.flickr.com/search/?q=digital_nature4

And yes, icon theme is Awoken. :)

FFS download the theme, package it yourself and submit it to the repos if you believe it to be that easy..... I mean, creating a *.deb through the autobuilder - anyone can do it, right?

Instead, hows about you say thanks to percy for building the theme and then doing a bit of research on how to install to /usr/share/themes ?!

I'll make it easy for everyone who can't be arsed to learn and instead want to bang on at the OP for not packaging into a deb and releasing to the repos, because you obviously have no recognition of what EFFORT actually is.

Download the file. Unzip it using your zip program of choice.
Plug in your N900 using USB cable - alternatively SSH into it using root and move the folder directly.
Using USB select Mass Storage Mode
Copy the unzipped folder to the N900
Unplug the N900
Open a terminal on the device and type the following;
/shakes head

I am talking about the ones that got blue color on them, but anywas i found theme while browsing the theme's filesm they are located in "background" folder names wallpaper1 - wallpaper2 - wallpaper3 and wallpaper4

And by the way great theme i just love it

Sorry, I thought that would be obvious. For every theme the wallpaper is located in /usr/share/themes/THEMENAME/background.

The wallpapers are in the .zip file you downloaded, in a folder called Wallpaper, they are the last four pictures ...

I was using blue nature and changed it then when i selected it back i noticed some changes like the attached pic (changes in the power menu which is not like that one in the first post) also the scroll-to-unlock screen has changed !

I have the same problem regardless of the used theme in around 50% of all cases when switching themes.

When it goes wrong the power menu and the unlock screen still show the previous theme. When you switch your themes often enough you should notice that it will also happen with other themes.

This is a bug in Maemo theme switching and can only be fixed with a reboot.

Edit: BTW, is this the new Awoken theme on your screenshot?

In case anybody is still interested in this.
Unfortunately this theme is missing startup-wizard folder. If you have like me a second N900 which sometimes depletes (and dead bupbat too), it serves you a really weird wizard (Missing images all over the place). This should fix it:
