Yes, but with all due respect, sir, you are not the representative sample ;)

Judging at least by the majority of posts here and on TJC, most people equate the OS with the UI and most of them advocate the limitations introduced in e.g. Sailfish UI compared to e.g. Maemo UI as "improvements" when it is in reality a mixed bag at best.

Anyway, I am glad taspts has clarified his/her position to us.

hahahaha...
pair 'o side-tracking maroons!
love ya..

What we need is a dedicated thread .
with a title something like...
"What does "more modern" ....mean to you...define it please.."

Never thought it would be a powder keg topic...
It should increase dialogue a 100 fold.

Of course SOMEONE here just had to be sacrilegious and start comparing maemo to sail...

Which maemo are you referring to btw?
I hope not the maemo5 ui
because frankly I believe it is just trying to look like all the other ui's

maemo4 has character and style in compare.
No contest against sail.

Its bazooka vs spitball in my opinion...

There...
how is that for inciting...
:D

See? Told you so! "more modern" == "more crippled"

Re: N800 users 2017

I just purchased my first two NITs on eBay in the past month. They've always been of interest to me, since I collect PDAs (predominantly Palm OS and PPC devices). I got the N800 and the N810, and I hope to soon get an N900. They're awesome little units.

I'm glad I'm not the only person who's still using these devices nowadays - it's great to know there are enthusiastic users all over this site who manage to dedicate their efforts and time to a device that's so old (but still so very awesome, not to mention usable) :)
