Not likely. It's Mediatek based and so far all the devices on the Sony Open Devices program have been Qualcomm Snapdragon based.

I thought the "reasons" were something like that but my hunch was it broke some Apple patent. Thanks for the info!

Xperia X is one of them. All of the recent X's are. And some older Z's. Also, SONY wanted to update some other also but then google stopped that because of some BS requirements or something. It's not always OEM fault that device doesn't get the update. At the end of the day they all have to play by google rules or no google services.
My nephew was showing me his new Nexus 6P the last time he was in town. I remember the last phone he had was a Motorola. He claimed that he switched to Nexus because their Google and they get the updates faster.

I agree as I am also a proud owner of an N9 in the US.

Will Jolla only produce enough for the community based on an International or European version or if we tell them where we are when ordering, can we get the US version of the Xperia? Considering Sony does make different versions of the Xperia X.

Not that we really needed it, Joona Petrell from Jolla has confirmed that it will be a fully productised Sailfish OS including Dalvik

"latest dalvik included". What does that mean? What is the last existent dalvik? The one in Jolla C (4.4.4)? Is there any other version out there? Are they (Jolla, Sony or Myriad) working in a new updated version?

Hopefully, it's based on 6.0 with ability to deny permissions to apps.
