[Announce] Config Reader

The reason why I made Config Reader is the following:
I was looking for some GConf keys, from which I didn't know the location, or its existence (needle in a haystack?). I just looked in directories that seemed to point the right way.
But then I became really tired of typing things like "gconftool -a /apps/osso..." and "gconftool --all-dirs /apps..." in Terminal over and over again.

Config Reader features:
- The main ingredient is "gconftool -R /" (that means: show all directories and keys, recursively)
- It saves all dirs/keys to an HTML file. Open it in a webbrowser and you have a great overview, quick browsing, plus search functionality ;)
- Date format is adjustable
- Smoother graphics than Angryman!

I've promoted Config Reader to Extras-testing, please test/vote, package page link is in the first post. Thanks!

Re: [Announce] Config Reader

v0.3 is now in Extras-devel :D

* Added "Compare files" feature
* Compare feature doesn't check if the file is made by Config Reader, so open any file!
It's not a bug, it's a feature :D
No guarantees for files that aren't made by Config Reader, though..
* Added button that opens the saved .html file
* Simplified process dialog (only one line of text)
* Changed button text "START" to "Create new"
* Added "generated by" note for every generated file (at the top)
* Shorter filenames, they now start with "cread" instead of "configreader"
* Code optimisation
* Known bug: the car sometimes doesn't show/move when saving another file

Next up is a "Compare (quick)" feature, that compares on the fly, without saving 2 separate files first.

umm, great indeed
but I really prefer a gconf-editor / windows regedit style if you could make one :D

Re: [Announce] Config Reader

Yeah good point, it has crossed my mind before, especially now that I'm using Ubuntu for a while and I've seen the Gconf Editor :)
Thanks for sharing your idea!
Can't say when I'll make it, but it seems fun to me :)
