Pause bug crashes your Rockbox? READ THIS!
 
If your Rockbox has the pause bug/WSoD with crash after a Thumb or CSSU install, try doing a apt-get upgrade in XTerm, it should fix it, it worked on my two N900s!

This will install the package named "upgrade" (if ever found ;)).
I believe you meant 'apt-get upgrade'.
But normally a 'apt-get update' should be done before that.

AND I always do a 'apt-get upgrade -s' to see what would be done!

So please rephrase a bit (details?).
