Ok to start off this new thread,
I want to bemoan the general state of Maemo Talk for not having enough threads ready-made for me to bemoan.

I want to bemoan putting up Christmas decorations way too damn early.

Hahahaha....

got a fix for part of that...
it kind of spoils the core of the fun of decorating...
But I have my tree pre decorated and sitting all year in storage,
I just pull him out , set him down in the living room and plug him in,
If I feel anxious about not decorating the tree,, I move some of the decorations around on him.
The time it takes to do that tree every year.
Forget that...
Other decorations around the house can't avoid,
Until some one comes up with
"Annual Time Delay Self Camouflaging Universal Holiday Decorations", that pop into view at the perfect time before every holiday, then disappear from sight afterward..

That's just one specific application of "General Reconfigurable Interface for Physical Environment", or GRIPE for short, that I have invented.

Are you 196 cm tall and share the car with your partner who is 152 cm? Are you fed up with having to constantly readjust the seat, wheel and mirrors position every time you change the driver? Let GRIPE save the settings for each driver and readjust them by pressing a button.

Are you an old geezer like me and need different spectacles for long (driving, watching TV), medium (working on a computer) and short (reading, operating a phone screen) distance? You've guessed it, GRIPE will sort it out.

Love it.
Yup.
It is badly badly needed tech.
Forget the daily " latest smartphone"
Stuff that makes life easier is what is needed.
