GVMax

Hey all.

I sign up here earlier today but I'm having a little trouble making my way through this.
https://www.gvmax.com

1. Login to your gmail account http://mail.google.com
2. Once logged in follow this link https://mail.google.com/mail/#settings/filters
3. Click on the 'Create a new filter' link at the bottom of the Settings section.
4. Enter the information shown on the following image
5. In the 'From' text field enter 'txt.voice.google.com OR voice-noreply@google.com'
6. Click on the 'Next Step >>' button
7. Check the 'Forward it to:' checkbox and enter your forwarding address in the text field beside this checkbox (you can find your forwarding address in your account page).
8. Check the 'Skip the Inbox'
9. Click the 'Create Filter' button.

I don't quite follow step number 7.

Do I enter in my Gmail address?

I just wanted to set something up for times when I'm away from the phone, to auto reply any text messages that are sent to my Google Voice number.

I guess I'm not understanding how this is exactly done.

Any help?

Cheers!

I would guess that you need to forward to some gvmax account so that they could do the autoreply?

So I forward everything to GVMax trusting that it will forward it back to me?

I've been using GVMax for the last year.

That second e-mail is in case you're not logged into Google Voice, it forwards an e-mail to you. What I like now - I attached my GV to my main GTalk account (same gmail address) and I can message folks via Adium X (OS X) or Pidgin (PC/Linux) from the desktop to their phone.

I'd say it's worth it.

Okay, thanks Gerbick. :)

It's just a little confusing for someone completely new to all of this.
