n9 pr 1.1 forgets all passwords after reboot
 

After each reboot, i need to answer many many passwords request for near all accounts i need to access.

all mail accounts, all messenger accounts - and all other accounts as soon i try to use them.

a total reinstall of the phone (wipeout) did not help.

what could be borked, anything i can do from the shell?

However, i see no evidence of anyone touching any of the filed bugs there... also anyone can change anyones bug - with a lot of potential to make the original entry useless.

Thanks for digging that up mate, pretty stupid bugzilla configuration imo. But they will figure that out soon enough i hope.

So, aparrantly fixed - do we have the roughest idea when we will be blessed with the next version 1.2?

It's better that we get the msg straight to them rather than filing it as another "bug".

Shouldn't make a difference, but try deleting all the accts 1st, do a full reset, & then re-create them.

Beats having to bother with a re-flash, esp. considering a re-flash probably won't make a difference.

Not sure what your repeated condescending rants are all about in the bug-tracker.
I mis-observed on two occasions, & this regrettably created more noise than necessary.
Once I realised, I apologized immediately....

Why not seek to raise the issue you're having in this thread or a new one?
Someone may know why the workaround isn't working, or can suggest an alternative approach.

Perhaps a DB or Shared Authentication Library* delete/restore etc.
This of course doesn't remove the root cause, so the issue may crop-up until a fix comes w/PR1.2.
Which is why Niwakame is trying to determine if something's getting corrupted:

That way we can back-up regularly & have it restored at restart, or with a cron job.
If something's broken in all fw images, then of course automated backups/restores will do zilch.

The same happened to me after my N9 ran out of battery. But the following worked:

remove all accounts

reboot the N9 (this is important)

add the accounts again

optionally reboot to check if it has worked

Bug 123 hit me last Tuesday. Here are my two cents:

1. I personally think that the corresponding database which holds the account settings might be messed up. It happened when no internet connection was available. Wondering why, I switched between 2G/3G mode and rebooted the device.

2. Lavanya's workaround https://harmattan-bugs.nokia.com/show_bug.cgi?id=123#c2 did not work for me. Unfortunately, i did not try pycages method.

3. I had to reflash my N9 which turned out to be a "nightmare" as i dont use Windows. I discussed this on #harmattan: Nokia Software Updater flashes only the rootfs and the software from Navifirm is called "illegal". I miss my N900 :)

4. If one goes to reflash the device its very important to flash MMC also, otherwise the issue is still present. I had to flash rootfs+MMC in one step.

Yep that's another approach mentioned in that thread l linked-to, I forgot to mention it in my last post.
One user claims a full reset in between is what did it for him...
While another claims a reboot in between is what's needed, but that for some, it won't stick after a reboot.

Thanks for the input but that doesn't make sense.
IIRC eMMC doesn't hold data like DB's etc.
It's purely for content/media etc. :confused:
One should only need to re-flash the RootFS.
Unless my memory's playing tricks on me.
