Nokia N810 WiMax questions
 

hi, i just bought a N810W, and i'm planning to use it as portable mini computer, messing around with some stuff

while i wait for it to arrive, i have some questions, that some researches on internet didn't clear out

1) does the N810W have the same hardware of the N810, except for that WiMax thing (that i won't use)?
(this is because i want to use bootmenu and stuff like gentoo-for-n8x0, i'm basically asking if they'll work)

2) partially related to the first question, if i were to flash the N810 image on a N810W, would i brick it? or simply the wimax won't work anymore?

As far as same hardware 'twixt the n810 and n810w..purely a guess on my part considering I have never had a n810w ..that you are correct (?)..the only diff is the wimax (possibly?)...but I suggest reading alllll there is to read on the wimax edition....for clarity's sake.
If there is a lack of material I suggest contacting via pm maemoers who owned one in the past who were savvy and experimental ...perhaps they can clear up some of the fog for you.

To be cautious always use the correct firmware for the specific model.
Even if things seem to be fine with using something else...
It just avoids needless troubleshooting from something going haywire as a consequence of some unforeseen interaction.

seems that the only differences are the wimax, the gps and the audio chips, and the N810W should be a little bigger
