Using N810 as host for external audio device?
I want to plug my Kaossilator to the N810 by using the mic entry. In this way, I should use my N810 to listen the music i play.
But what program will i have to use to listen the data transmitted by the mic entry??? Hoping it's not impossible. Thanks |

Thanks.
That's sad. Is the problem due to hardware or software? In the second case, what about finding a solution by using debian package with LXDE turbocharged? |

Don't quote me on this, but I think it can be done via software (i.e., it's not a hardware issue).

Re: Using N810 as host for external audio device?
At the moment, there's no software that can record from the mic at greater than 8kHz sampling; it's unclear (to me, at least) where this limitation is, and how practical it is to work around; I think I heard something about it being limited by code for the DSP core.
But if 8k is good enough, it should be fairly straightforward, and Debian should have everything you need; might even be as simple as: Code:
esdrec -r8000 |esdcat -r8000 |
Re: Using N810 as host for external audio device?
Factually, i don't need to record sound, i only need to use the n810 as a kind of speaker (the kaossilator needs additional speaker), but i'll try your solution.
Edit: I tried and obtained : Quote:

the more i think the more i understand that all i need is somthing which make a kind of bypass between the mic connection and the speaker.
Does any of the media player have a "aux" mode, a bit like on HiFI? |
Re: Using N810 as host for external audio device?
That should be "-r8000", not "r-8000", and I may also have the syntax messed up; try putting a space after the r, like "-r 8000".

None of the media players integrate this (AFAIK), because at 8kHz it's basically useless. |

Great...
So, thank you. I'll have to buy those damn Speakers... |

FYI, kaoscillator2 has built in speakers I just got one
and looking for hacks on it :-) -- http://rzr.online.fr/q/synth |
