Re: Nokia E1 concept
Even this is a fan concept - but how come there is no HW keyboard and it's in E series? I would name it C1 if I made that. :D

Re: Nokia E1 concept
Strange where's the E-series keyboard? Last time Nokia felt that business users would not need more than 16GB storage and now the keyboard is gone. Why need a display? Can't it just read your emails aloud?
Happy to see some attention to the audio- side of things. Wish Jolla would have been as forthcoming with info related to the upcoming tablet's audio part. I'd love to be designer of Smartphones these days. 1) Ask Foxconn the updated price list. Related to screen tech and size, and expected sales volume, desired support level, you see if any budget left for including extra "non-essential features" like SD-Card, IR, Radio, user replacable battery, HDMI etc.. Mostly this can't be included and then you proceed with leaving out features such as dual speakers and premium camera. 2) Then draw rectangular shape, round corners, put screen and buttons, choose color. Don't think about ergonomics too much, it will not help you through next step and stuff can always be improved in a next and next update. 3) Run the design through the database of current and past phones. This is the most delicate operation of the design. Luckily it is now fully automated because a few mm's in placing the buttons or unthoughtful rounding of curves can cost you a full upgrade cycle of 6 months profit and might even cause draging law suits. Done and time to announce. |

no, no, no.
Please just forget this. You do not want to discuss "Nokia" branded OEM devices really. What would you gain from that anyways?? |

And I can assure you the design will be your standard off-the-shelf Foxconn list design, what else do you expect? |
Re: Nokia E1 concept
/meh.
I rather a cheap "Microsoft Lumia" toy. Or a Nexus/Xperia/Note. Or an iPhone. I'm getting rid of Nokia products in my life. Starting with my 3315 hammer, and Nokia branded underwear. |
