Re: Nokia N800 Case
According to expansys the official Nokia N800 case is now DISCONTINUED!!!
What a joke.... Reggie or anyone else, do you have any contacts that can confirm this? |
Re: Nokia N800 Case
Pretty funny, if so. I'm pretty happy with the rubbery skin I got from Hong Kong via ebay, for $10 including shipping. It doesn't protect the screen, but it seems adequate anyway. By the time the screen breaks I'll be ready for some other small computer.

Did it even made it out to the market?

Re: Nokia N800 Case
I am very disappointed at the lack of a proper case for the N800. The metal lid + pouch of the 770 were far superior to the felt "eyeglass" slip case (slip, because it is liable to slip out and hit the floor). Perhaps they intend for us all to break our N800's in short order so we buy the N900? Sorry, not falling for that one Nokia! From the promise and dump routine Nokia pulled on the 770, the accessories that never ship and the utterly unacceptable repair process, I increasingly see Nokia as a company that with intent makes false promises to its customers or whose view of their own capabilities is drastically out of line with their ability to deliver. Either way, it doesn't speak well for them. The dump and run routine Nokia pulled with the 770 has been particularly harmful to their reputation. It is showing up in a lot of places online. More than anything, Nokia would be well served by appointing an official community ombudsman to directly interact with the community. As it is now, I feel a lot of ill will is being generated because nobody is speaking in an official capacity for Nokia (even spin ridden answers would be better than none).

Re: Nokia N800 Case
CASE LOGIC PLT-2 STRONGMAN PDA CASE
Pros: * Great padded protection (Normal drops won't do any damage). * Perfect fit for Nokia N800 (as if it was built specifically for it). * Stores 2 extra batteries in pouch BEHIND Nokia N800, extra stylus in stylus holder, extra SD card in business pouch, and some papers/business cards in remaining business pouches (everything inside case so no need to carry the extras in pockets). * Do not have to remove the Nokia N800 from case in order to use it. * Looks nice. Cons: * None. EBay - $15.99 (Brand New) http://cgi.ebay.ca/CASE-LOGIC-PLT-2-...QQcmdZViewItem |

Re: Nokia N800 Case
Like most people I've been looking for an N800 case too (I searched and searched for the official product, but with zero joy), so here are the results of my searching for your benefit.
These guys do a decent-looking leather case: http://www.proporta.com/F02/PPF02P05...260&t_mode=des (UK) http://www.proporta.com/F02/PPF02P05...260&t_mode=des (US) (I love the way us Brits get stitched on pricing, £26.95 vs $34.95!) These US-based guys do a good range of accessories for the N800: http://www.boxwave.com/products/easy...ories_2569.htm And here's their equivalent leather case, which also looks reasonable: http://www.boxwave.com/products/dlsl...leeve_2569.htm And a 'FlexiSkin' rubbery number, if you're into that: http://www.boxwave.com/products/flex...-n800_2569.htm I checked Amazon but couldn't find much through a direct search. Shopping.com had the leather and rubbery cases: http://www.shopping.com/xFS?KW=Nokia...T=SCH&x=23&y=6 And so did eBay: http://preview.tinyurl.com/28k9kh (the eBay URL was ridiculous!) May you all have beautifully protected N800's! PS I love Nokia (never had anything other than Nokia), but WHY do they have to make it such a pain to get certain things from them?! |
Re: Nokia N800 Case
Has anyone tired the similar PLTE-2. A "durable, molded case" for $19.77 on Amazon (less on eBay).

I haven't tried it but the dimensions are a lot bigger so I wouldn't think it would be such a good fit as the one I have. |
