We had a great meeting today. It was good to see some of the new Council and rehash some of the things that happened during the last term -- I am always surprised by how much we do when we have to list it all out like we did today! I was also happy to see several community members who just wanted to observe the meeting.
I'll be sending the meeting minutes to the Community Development mailing list a little later. Thanks to everyone who attended! Tim |

Yes, it appears that The Adjustment Bureau kept me from posting yesterday... I'll get to it today. ;)

Hm, I'm a bit confused by this bit:

There were some followup questions from members of the new council that should be in the meeting log. Some partial clarification now at least from me - there is no written contract by which the community owns maemo.org. What we have been told is that Nokia transferred responsibility for the website to Nemein. This could mean, for example, that Nemein is legally responsible for content that appears on the site. Theoretically, Nemein should be responsive to maemo.org, but there have apparently been some difficulties in this respect. Nokia pays Nemein directly, the money does not pass through maemo.org. The new council has already started to consider the options available to us in this situation. |

To clarify even more:
1. the community owns the maemo.org content 2. The community via Neiman (web development contractors for Nokia) has root access to the maemo.org website 3. Neiman is contracted by Nokia to maintain and improve the maemo.org website. 4. Nokia still owns the domain and pays for web hosting, etc. 5. Through the community's ownership, we can suggest changes/alterations to Neiman and Neiman will, with authorization from the Community Council, make those changes/alterations Hth, Tim |

This must refer to some subset of content like the website, wiki, talk, mailing list archives etc (most of which has been CC for ages, and its "ownership" vague at best). Presumably things like code & binaries stay (C) Nokia, right? Quote:
What does "the legal ownership of maemo.org was handed over to the community" mean at the end of the day? |
