Stellarium

Hi folks,
I spended some time on getting Stellarium working. edit: the real work was done by xalioth, BIG THANKS to him! edit2: update: stellarium 0.10.3 has been released officially and I pushed it into the extras-devel repo. It uses Qt4.6, which can't be considered as stable, and I use the latest stellarium version (0.10.3) the official release. so all in all I don't know how stable it runs, feel free to test it, but use it at your own risk :-) Official homepage: http://www.stellarium.org Developer, sources, scm: http://sourceforge.net/projects/stellarium/ https://code.launchpad.net/stellarium Some additional information: -optimised for maemo (installation in /opt/stellarium) - change values for screen_w and screen_h in /home/user/.stellarium/config.ini Code:
181,182c181,182 -for deselecting a star use the rightclick gesture: a long click, just hold down on one point on the screen Known Bugs: -some issues with the fonts when displaying a star description -option dialog is too big N2H: -GPS integration -Follow your star? -Shuairan- |

Re: Stellarium
Thanks for tackling this port, great work! The libqt4-maemo5-* dependencies aren't working, but everything else went fine after I installed them manually according to your post above.
Rendering with 3-6 fps, even in my language (german). Looks gorgeous. Possible bugs:
For anyone interest: Here are two nice small tutorials from Utah State University that cover the basics:The full docs can be found here. |

Re: Stellarium
Looks very nice :) Can't wait to test this out in the field. Maybe in the future you could even use the sensors to know where the phone is directed at.
I don't think that you have to install each pakage one by one, I think you can just use "dpkg -i stellarium_0.10.3r4182-1_armel.deb" and after you get dependency error use "apt-get -f install", this will install all needed packages. When it's done it should be installed. |
Re: Stellarium
Great work, thank you!
How about using the accelerometer for navigation ? So you can "point the device at what you want to identify" kinda thing.. Will this work ? |
Re: Stellarium
Are you gonna give this app gps data cuz that would be the fastest way to configure location.
