File manager for command line?

I am trying to find a simple file manager to be used in the console.

As seen in a different post, mc does not really work (it runs, but then the keyboard pops up all the time, and you cannot do anything).

So is there any other file manager that would work (and would allow to see for example the files starting with a . (dot) ?)

Thanks for any ideas...

ls -lA shows files and folders with name starting with a .(dot)

I believe any console-based file manager will have the same problem on the Itablets, mainly because apparently whenever you touch the screen in an xterm, the input panel will pop up. The entire xterm screen is considered by the system as one input zone, so unless someone e.g. writes an Itablet version of ncurses that recognizes scrollbars and allows selection, you're SOL.

Still, nothing GUI available for the Itablet beats mc's power...
