Twitpic sharing plugin
 

Just noticed that the Twitpic sharing plugin isnt working anymore.

Just wondered if

a) there was a workaround, or

b) There were any plans to fix this?

I have only recently discovered that any images I upload to Twitter are not hosted / controlled by Twitter and I cant embed them like I can with the Twitpic stuff.

Phew....fixed! This one support Twitpic upload:

This plugin allows you to upload pictures to Twitter using the sharing service of the Nokia N900. It can upload directly to Twitter but it also supports Twitpic, Twitgoo, Mobypicture, img.ly, Posterous and yfrog.

Default is Twitter, but in options you can change it to any of the above :)

i enter my log in details for twitter and it comes up with username or password wrong?

I'm a frequent user of the Twitter sharing plugin, but right now both of them are not working at the moment. It could be something going on at Twitter's side. I already contacted Alberto who made the Sharing Plugin for Twitter. The Twitpic one still gives me incorrect login/pass, even though I'm sure the credentials are correct and tested on the web version. So I don't know if anyone will even update that. I hope these gets fixed/updated soon!

I just noticed that Alberto Garcia has uploaded a new version of the Twitpic sharing plugin a few days ago. Since June 11th the older twitter API v1.0 is no longer supported by Twitter and so the plugin did not work anymore on my N900. :(
New Version 0.6-1 is in extras-devel repo. You find it here.
Changelog:
* Use the version 1.1 of the Twitter API.
* Drop support for Twitgoo and Posterious.
* Fix Mobypicture support.

I downloaded and installed the package and now direct upload of pictures to Twitter works again. :D
