this is the fight back!!!

I dont expect any superduper highend mobile but atleast something for the community. I hope to see something fast and not in a year. Provlem is with similar projects they often not have a chance to RELEASE somehing at the end just take vivaldi tablet as one cool project but where is the device:(

If they are trying to make a tablet (4in-10in)... this could be ambitious.
I think they should use a current product and expand on it, something like the Ainol Novo7 Elf2 would make the prime kickstarter:
~ $99
- Decent quality 1024x600 LCD
- 1.4GHz Dual-Cortex A9 (40nm)
- Mali-400 (dualcore gpu)
- 1GB DDR3 RAM
- 16GB NAND, microSD, microHDMI, microUSB-HOST
- Wifi bgn, BT, 2MP camera, gyro, speaker, mic, headset
- 3,700mAh (with dedicated charge port)

Build on top of something like that, like Vivaldi Tablet, and actually roll out firmware/devices to developers.
Perhaps merge efforts with the teams from Vivaldi, MeeGo-Veterans and ARMopenSUSE.

This is just awesome - I should ask someone to kick me, to be sure that I am not dreaming! :D

I hope the community can help them a lot, that WE are asked, involved, that it will be a (bit) community driven project! I wish them so much, luck and success! I'll do what ever is possible to support this fantastic idea/project/company! :)

Sounds a bit too phone-oriented for my taste, but if they can find the courage to respect my freedom (no aegis or other tivoization rubish) and privacy I'll probably give them money anyway.

This seems doable; stay tuned. I would support something from Europe.

Hopefully it's Mer, Qt 5 and a fantastic UI that's as close to N9 Swipe as they can get away with (or license?).

I hope that they have graphic and industrial designers that will create something as groundbreaking and stand-out as the N9 that will elevate them from device(s?) that developers will love to something that will entice average consumers as well.

And hopefully keep a developer story similar enough to N9/Symbian/BB10 to get some cross-pollination of Qt apps?
