No matter how powerful it is, IMHO Android will spoil it.
Clumsy UI, no multitasking, advertisements traps for your fingers everywhere...

Of course it's short range. As in touching the charging pad. Still a lot easier to throw your phone on the pad than trying to fiddle the micro-usb charger in the dark or while driving.
