Horror flash game: "The House"

alright i played this game some minutes ago and i'm still scared as hell,it's a flash horror game called "The House" (not for people with heart problems) i don't know, maybe it doesn't scares someone else but it did take the **** out of me many times :) but my girlfriend wasn't scared at all,how embarrasing hahaha

anyway the gameplay is quite easy,u have many objects in each room of "the house" and u just need to click on them and try to find the connection with another objects and slowly u understand the plot.. i warn guys u u'll jump up many times from the chair :) so u make it like this till u reach the last room, the most terrifying.

of course it's better playing it in full screen (u just have a little scrollbar but overall the game fits great in full screen) and of course with full volume (the music is very creepy) so that's all, hope u'll enjoy it :)

Sorry to resurrect this old thread but I've found about this game today thanks to a video of YouTube user PewDiePie. And I've seen there's a sequel, The House 2, here:

Horror, you say? Well, I don't want to discourage anyone, but those games are hardly a top notch stories. If we're already on off-topic department (cause it's not about N900 games, and should rather land in off-topic), I would like to recommend something absolutely awesome, instead.

It is horror adventure, but despite many macabre moments, the story itself is driving point. Not a thing that tries to scare you by a monster jumping out and doing "woo!", oh no. in fact, they're not trying to scare you at all, instead, characters are very relatable. Despite terrific events, you're just to immersed in the story, to have time for being scarred. See a teaser:

While made by one person (mainly), it's one of the best games I've ever played in my life, and I speak about it at the same breath with things like The Witcher or Planescape: Torment.

From technical point of view, it's using FOSS engine (AGS), but game itself isn't FOSS, it's a "fair play" proprietary one (no DRM). I'm currently trying to contact author about possibility of running it on ARM linux environment. Playing it on N900 would be a nice feat (but don't hold your breath, I'm not sure if it will be ever possible).

That game The Cat Lady looks awesome Estel, I'll play it when I have more free time, probably this summer. Being a fan of horror games I tend to try new games if possible. It's a shame that actually I have very little time to dedicate to video games.
Playing it on N900 would be great.

Just for the sake of completeness, as we already started it here - a post-release trailer of Cat lady (different one), made by fans:

Sweet.

Sadly, AGS (Adventure Game Studio, the engine)) turned out to be a real "stupid, evil [...]" (pun intended) to port. Despite being FOSS, I just can't make it to work under any flavor of Linux, properly. Plus side is, that even research for it improved my coding skills few times (but starting point was miserably low :P), so maybe I just need to learn a little bit more.

Now, it really feels stupid to write about such great game in thread with "horror flash game" in title. I should have created new thread from the beginning...
