IMO your script doesn't work. The current session is not created in your folder user. But I'm not sure about the effect of that patch. I doesn't noticed much and if it works then only in terminal. Maybe this patch is just another method to re-nice a program? I think I should read your pointer to cgroups more carefully.

well, hopefully it's not placebo but i did try opening many browser windows... launched all my bookmarked sites... about 7-8 of them... with 3 accounts online using the default IM application (this is normally the killer in all thing lagging)... but the multitasking seems to be pretty smooth so far... which is good cause normally after opening 4+ browser windows it'll start to slow down... so we'll see how consistently this happens...

then i'll have MORE BROWSING POWER!! imagine having seamless 8++(right now btw) windows open all the time... what a sight

PS this is the only patch I used. I don't use swappolube. Once again HUGE thanks. :)

I do see that cgroup etc are created so seems patch is applied. i also have swappolube tuned for massive io. hopefully your script will work out and make my phone much snappier.. :)

but in the other hands there are somepeople agree with you

So this script works with some people and for others that think it is not working

maybe more tests are needed ;)

Script works really great. Faster multitasking and contacts scrolling. I noticed that email app is working faster 4 me. Thanks (my n900: overclocked 1000, cssu, swappolube, tracker-cfg, power-kernel)

If you Followed everything exactly then no problems
And for the /dev/cgroup
(I have mentioned this before)
As long as it is created the patch is applied

And the sub folders and files are created and deleted while running and closing apps
so for my screen shot epitaph requested it
and i was lucky to see those files and directorry as i was running about 20 apps together

So Don't worry

Karam, I've fixed an error in my patch but I'm getting an other little result. See my screenshot. I got a folder created with the pid of the terminal in /dev/cgroup/user/ and IMO terminal is now faster. You should check your script.

Re: [ANNOUNCE] Script + Tweaks To Speed UP N900

I can exactly tell what did you do :

(After applieing MY PATCH ) you opened /home/user/.bashrc
and copied the lines

if [ "$PS1" ] ; then
mkdir -p -m 0700 /dev/cgroup/cpu/user/$$ > /dev/null 2>&1
echo $$ > /dev/cgroup/cpu/user/$$/tasks
echo "1" > /dev/cgroup/cpu/user/$$/notify_on_release
fi

and pasted them in terminal
wich made the terminal pid appear in the cgroup user folder

So i can help you to explain what happened
First when pasted those lines in terminal you applied the patch (FOR TERMINAL ONLY) so any apps from launched from that terminal window
Ae launched with the patch applied
but MY PATCH wich applies those ine to the whole core stuff
so the boot up has the patch applied

SO : My Patch has nothing wrong
And here a pic of what explain ( i did what you did)

SOOOOO Please don't fill this thread with b*llsh*t about claims of your patch
and pointing that my patch is not working ;)
